The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

I should have made it clearer, "...Oberlin flight control was told one or two weeks ago that the military flight controllers were going to be replaced by Homeland Security personnel.

I believe that something is in the works, (As Shepard Smith said on Fox News "The terrorists are in the final stages of a planned attack"). I believe the information that the U.S. has obtained indicates one of the targets may be in the Great Lakes (Lake Erie) area.

That guy from New York who's missing and who left a threat to the President in his house, was thought to be going to Wisconsin, at least the article I read said that.

Wonder if this is him. Hope so, then at least he's off the streets now.

Donna, it looks so similar to me, and I looked at so many photos last night.

I started up on the Canadian border, and just kept looking at maps and then any photos I could find online. Kept going westward, then down through the Pacific Northwest area, thinking it could be in the Seattle or Tacoma area.

Then kept going down through the California coastline, thinking for a while that it could be northern California, and got stuck on Morro Bay...thinking Morro = Moor ? Not sure if it does, but thought maybe in the mind of a jihadi it would mean something.

But kept going, all along the southern border, up the Texas coast, Louisiana, nothing seemed right.

Kept going up the Eastern seaboard, Long Island area, and then finally it hit me, Maine.

Those pine trees, so typically Maine, and of course the Bush summer home. Finally found that photo of Seal Harbor, and it's so close to what looks like an easy entry across the water, just hop in a boat and pull up on a pretty unpopulated section of coast.

It reminded me of a book I was reading, where the terrorist just took a boat across from somewhere in the Caribbean, and landed in Florida.

Butler University policeman shot and killed. ...Nearly 21/2 hours after the officer was was shot just outside the front gate of the famed Hinkle Fieldhouse, police shot the suspect Khadir Al-Khattab who was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a battery charge. He was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds at 7 p.m. at Wishard Memorial Hospital. ..According to police and witnesses, Khadir Al-Khattab wandered into Hinkle Fieldhouse before 10 a.m. as a few women's basketball players were working out. He watched them for about 40 minutes and at one point asked to borrow a ball. "They told him to get out," said Gary Patterson, a freshman member of the men's basketball team who spoke to the players. Members of the women's team could not be reached for comment. Someone inside the fieldhouse called police for help. Davis arrived and found the suspect in the fieldhouse parking lot. Police said Al-Khattab gave a fake name and that a confrontation began after Davis radioed his dispatcher to check on the information. Witnesses nearby saw the two men speaking and, after hearing a single gunshot, saw Davis lying on the parking lot asphalt, said Sgt. Steve Staletovich of the Indianapolis Police Department. The witnesses told police the suspect picked up a weapon and fled. Police later identified a gun found with Al-Khattab as Davis' weapon. Officials said it was not clear whether Davis was shot with his own gun, or how Al-Khattab obtained the weapon. At 10:29 a.m., a radio dispatch was broadcast about an officer being shot outside Hinkle Fieldhouse. In less than a minute, the first of more than 100 officers from at least six local and state departments began to arrive. Officers, many armed with shotguns, were assigned to specific intersections. Authorities said the move was designed to trap Al-Khattab in the narrow Butler-Tarkington area. ...Authorities initially weren't sure of the suspect's identity, broadcasting a name that turned out to be false. Police said it appeared the suspect avoided police by running down alleys and hiding. ...Officers went from garage to garage with their shotguns drawn. Police stood in front of the governor's residence at 46th and Meridian streets; neither Gov. Joe Kernan nor first lady Maggie Kernan was home at the time. Roadblocks were set up along Illinois Street. Police helicopters circled the neighborhood all afternoon, blanketing the community in a constant staccato hum. ...Shortly afterward, and just about a block away, a man fitting the suspect's description was found walking south down Illinois Street when two Marion County sheriff's deputies spotted him and stopped. The officers parked their car and told Al-Khattab to stop. Police said Al-Khattab reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a firearm, firing once. Dittos on the CG, my neighbor (CG auxiliary) saw a CG chopper, very unusual for our area.

Discussed on the local Cleveland radio; Lake Erie is a fresh water source. Four nuclear power plants (two near Cleveland), also many coal fired power plants and many chemical plants. Several large cities around Lake Erie, Buffalo NY, Erie PA, Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit Mi., easily accessible from the North (Canada).

Remember a few months ago some folks were busted for trying to enter the U.S. illegially, in the NE, via the water? Was that the same area?
