Mark Dayton's press secretary writes: However, I am also a gun owner myself, and I strongly support the Second Amendment. As your United States Senator, I will continue to defend and protect the right of sportsmen and sportswomen, hunters, and law-abiding citizens to own firearms.

Since when?

Hey, Marky, just because you used to own a major stake in Target and Target used to sell guns, that does not make you a gun owner.

Excuse me for raining on this parade (a bit). "I voted against this amendment based on studies conducted by the Clinton and Bush Justice Departments that state the ban has not been effective in reducing crime." This logic is false. The fedgov is prohibited from legislating the possession and carry (at least open carry) of arms by the 2nd Amendment. Since the 14th Amendment so are the states. I clearly understand that unconstitutional legislation contrary to the plain meaning of the 2nd Amendment has been passed by the Congress and affirmed by the courts. Until we citizens clearly communicate with our congresscriters they will continue to infringe on our basic human right to self-defense.

Dayton voted for Ted Kennedy's bill that banned the .30-30 and most centerfire rounds. (even Leahy, Bingaman, and Daschle voted against that ban)

John Kerry and my two losers in the Sinate voted for that ban too. At least you have Coleman. I got Lenin and Stabmenow.
