This was a "joke" probably in Kerry's twisted mind, but not funny whatsoever!

Come on. People are taking this WAY too seriously. If Kerry's remark is so terrible, what about Bush's comment that could be interpreted as a "thinly veiled threat" of a dictatorship?:
If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator. Is that supposed to be funny? I think people need to lighten up just a bit.
"This was a "joke" probably in Kerry's twisted mind, but not funny whatsoever!"
Right. And it illustrates the axiom that liberalism is the politics of denial. Aside from the political downside, you would never hear a conservative make this joke, indeed during the clinton regime no public figure did so, despite ample provocation. We don't think killing any president is funny.
Liberals actually think it's OK for them to say these things because they are oblivious to the intensity of anger and hate that lurks inside them. Indeed it is their lack of awareness which makes them dangerous.
To a man, and woman, they would vigorously deny that they would ever harbor a homicidal urge within themselves. They are just so much better, you see, than people who actually do such things.
