Eventhough I don't agree with his stands of many issues including the budget here in CA, I have to say that the governor gave an excellent speech. PERIOD!
He was dynamic, exciting, entusiastic, optomistic and patriotic. God bless him!

I watched him last night and it's true it was a Grand Slam! He made me feel good the way Reagan did when he spoke. And that Girley Man line that was so cool. I hope as things go on he can temper some of his liberal views! We need to change our law so that Arnold can have a chance at the highest office.

I totally agree. He rocked!! He really inspired me. He needs to give motivational speeches in the schools. 8^)

Arnold was great and I know a lot of conservatives will have criticism of him, but he stands with the basic economic and foreign policy principles of the Republican party and that speech was one of the best. People who come from under communism or some other ruthless dictatorship, regime tend to take foreign policy more seriously. He made Ronald Reagan proud last night.

I don't believe it - you're now an Arnold supporter? Heck, I was there at his first HB walk-a-thon and again at the campaign wrap-up at the Pier. Anyone could see that he has the ability to stir a crowd, not because he was in movies, but because of his political philosophy. What he said last night on nat'l TV was the same exact things he said during the recall.

Even though he didn't get my vote, he was great last night and I was very proud of him. Good on you, Arnold!

"To my fellow immigrants listening tonight, I want you to know how welcome you are in this party," Well that certainly won't endear him with the Tancredo wing of the party.

I'm no Arnold fan but that was a very good speech indeed. I wonder how many point the GOP might have picked up in Cali.

Arnold went yard. Only Arnold would have the stones to say Nixon was the reason he was a Republican.

Arnold gave a great speech.
I watched my wife who doesn't usually care for political speeches. Normally, she reads a book during a republican speech. We never listen to rat speeches.
A few minutes into Arnold's speech, she put her book down and really started to listen. She was shaking her head positively and verbally agreeing.
At the end, she said "I hope Arnold travels through California and other key states to support GW.!"
I agree!

I missed the speech but was stunned when I turned the tube on to hear Dan Blather (socialist) say something like "Arnie knocked Kerry around like a cheap hockey puck" or something to that effect. Bravo

Some of my liberal friends are claiming that Arnold said he watched the Nixon-Humphrey presidential "debates"... and there were no such debates. The only transcript that I have seen quotes Arnold as saying he watched the Nixon-Humphrey presidential "race". Does anyone remember what he actually said?
They claim Arnold is a liar because of this.

Update: October 19, 2004 AD:
Under pressure from his Hollywood friends, he has ENDORSED California Prop 71, which sticks the taxpayer with a bond issue to fund embryonic stem cell research. He is PRO-Abortion, and now PRO-embryonic stem cell research.
AND, he wants to legally indebt Californians for $3 Billion to fund it!

I don't want Arnold to be President of the United States, I want him to be President of the United Nations.
