People keep mentioning 1000 as some kind of threshold number for military deaths in Iraq. I'd like to propose a different threshold number . . . mine is 2752. When more US Soldiers have died in Iraq than Civilians died on 911 . . . then maybe we should rethink . . . of course, I would opt for a redoubling of efforts and for some heavier weaponry to be employed.

The very next sentence out of O'Neill's mouth, to Nixon, was to the effect "well, not IN Cambodia, but on the border".
But you will not hear that next sentence coming from anyone in the dishonest media, like Chris Matthews, who made a big deal last week about the O'Neill comment.
It's surprising to me that Brit has yet to get the full comment.
Laura Ingraham on her radio program last week was saying the same thing, re: the Cambodia comment, and had not heard the next sentence. But then a caller set her straight thankfully. Now she knows.
But it was too late for her to correct Matthews when he came out with that incomplete statement of O'Neill's the night before, when Laura was on with him.
I think we can be that certain Chris Matthews and his ilk in the media will never inform the populace of the full truth about any of this.

they are all unilaterally claiming Kerry won the debate with the Swifties. They didn't have any documentation, they didn't present a shred of evidence that Kerry didn't earn his medals, they're part of a scurrilous smear campaign, blah blah blah.

On today's show, Juan said that no lie of Kerry's has been proven by the "official documentation". That is not true. Kerry's first purple heart is based on nothing but Kerry's word. There is no official documentation beyond the award itself. No after-action report of hostile fire. He has now backed off and admitted that it may have been self-inflicted. His book Tour of Duty based on his diaries even casts doubt as Kerry says that they had not yet been fired upon nine days after he was supposed to have been wounded by hostile fire. Christmas in Cambodia is another Kerry lie. Kerry has no "official documentation" to prove he - or any other Swift Boat - was EVER used to go into Cambodia. Again, Kerry has backed off of this lie too. Juan, you lie when you say that no Kerry lie has been proven. There are even more than these two......

Shudder. She added something at the tail end about how she felt people would come to know her. It was wierd and eerie.
McCain says, yes, Kerry opened the door to the Swift ad by making his Viet Nam service so important in his campaign.
McCain makes clear Kerry's behavior after he got back from Viet Nam is fair game.
