It's not a winning strategy, no - but neither is comparing Arnold Schwarzenegger to the AIDS virus, so I guess it fits.

He reads Greek -- he travels with a laptop loaded with Bible software, including a copy of the Septuagint, the Greek version of Hebrew Scriptures -- and can wax eloquent at length about the etymology of certain words and how they correspond to theological principles. "I try to read or think about some element of the Bible every day," he says, leaning back in his office chair, and propping his feet up on the desk.
Not your typical candidate. Thanks for a great post.

To them stem cell research, or abortion is more important than the current war, free enterprise or tax cuts. 1.5 million babies are dismembered in their mothers' wombs annually. Jobs are not more important than human life. Such a mercenary attitude is abominable.

So I guess when Keyes loses we can say that God was defeated? Incredible. When people comment on an article that they haven't read, it makes them look silly.

keyes isn't for tax cuts he is for the total elimination of income tax, so don't go voting for obama just yetBecause of this, the entire establishment will be unloading on Alan with the intent of picking off slow-witted "conservatives" and convincing them that Alan is too "dangerous" or "extreme."

The only person I recall him being negative about in the article is his opponent. He has more to do there, God bless him in it. If he wants to question his opponent's politics, that's one thing. Questioning his commitment to God is another thing altogether, IMO, and should not be within Keyes' purview.

Finding retirement too damned busy. Besides the volunteer work at Ft. Lewis I'm not working pretty much full time on an election campaign (a Republican running for a Congressional seat in the Seattle area). I thought know this campaign is uphill, but it's nothing like Keyes.
I'm having eye surgery this week so I have the whole week off...almost. So I have a little time for meaningless pursuits...here I am.

Obama has served to obstruct even the saving of lives of his brothers and sisters, just because they are either still hanging by the neck from their mothers vaginas, or taken from the womb with the intent of killing them.

My "priorities" are in fine fettle.
But there's NO good reason for you and others here to sling indiscriminate mud around,at those of us who aren't bedazzled by Keyes and post FACTS.I've been holding my nose and working phones for him,but I refuse to turn a blind eye to his flaws or the hard, cold facts concerning this race.
To: Amelia
I tend to agree with you.
Obama has declared that he is a believer in "many paths". He apparently believes that makes him a Christian, but it is diametrically opposed to what Christ Himself said. True Christians will recognize that, without Keyes having to say a word about it.

You are in Illinois? (And I'll remind you once more that asking you a pointed question is not slinging mud.) Don't hold your nose when you talk on the phone, though. I makes you sound funny.

Good grief............that was NOT to be taken (holding my nose) litterally!
To: Central Scrutiniser
Maybe non evangelical christians don't like arrogant and smug folk who think their job is to constantly remind the world how morally superior they are.Evangelical Christians don't necessarily like that, either.
To: nopardons
But if you do sound like that, make sure you begin your calls, "Hello, is this the party to whom I'm speaking?" They'll take the call, since they'll think it came from Ernestine.

Yeah, I kind of chuckle when I read your posts, too.

It's neat to think Keyes might be a FReeper or lurker. :-)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1193447/posts The reparations issue. That's one of the few things I will fault Keyes for, is the apparent over-estimation of the public. Sadly many are ill-equipped for discussion for the sake of discussion or exchange of ideas.Sigh... unfortunately apt concern, I think.

I am always disappointed when a candidate links God in some fashion with the outcome of an election. This is the tenant of the very religions we are in conflict with. Oh well, I wish him well. Thanks for bringing this up. If you look at the words in question -- at the conclusion of his acceptance speech, you will see that what he was saying is, "I'll try my best and leave it in God's hands."
Whatever we do, for good or ill, God has the victory! Amen.
