After this storm is over, if mother nature didn't do it for you, if I were you I'd pay to have some of those big trees taken down. It's worth every penny if it helps your peace of mind. That's what I did within a year or so of moving into this house and a minor hurricane threw a giant limb off of an old tree right next to the house. Worth every penny. I could feel the ground shake when that limb came down. Any trees that might fall on my house now are slender, and are far enough away that if they do hit they won't actually come into the house, although they might muss things up on the roof.

Believe me I've wanted those trees down. Problem is trees would have to be removed from neighbors too for all to be well. Most do not want to lose their trees - today we may have nature make that decision for us.
