I am concerned as a lot of news reports say the storm "snuck up" on a lot of people, and the evacustions started belatedly. Also got concerned when I read the last paragraph of the account of one mans storm experience on the Fox News webpage lead story. Sounded very nasty.

That would be way too freaky...if it not only turned back over land away from the trough but maintained strength without drawing from the Atlantic or Gulf substantially.
