OK, I'll bite. I like Fox News, especially Special Report, but they have absolutely got to get out of the habit of 23-hour-a-day reporting on missing wives/suspected husbands and celebrity trials.

I dislike the tabloid aspect in general -- that, and the steady diet of drug commercials.

I can't say if they're any better or worse than CNN in that department, since I've got my office TV pretty much permenently tuned to Fox News, and this is where I spend the bulk of my time. (The satellite box is in the other room, and I don't get around so well, so it stays where it is.)

I attribute much of this to Rupert Murdoch's tabloid background. Stuff like "Strippers First Night on the Job" segued right after some interview with high level diplomats -- only in the mind of an inveterate tabloid mogul could such a transition be dreamed up -- let alone repeatedly.

As to the steady diet of tabloid murders, yes, PLEASE give us all a break. Take Rita Cosby off the air, send her to a resperatory therapist -- at least until she learns to catch her breath -- and start covering some hardcore NEWS instead of.. hardcore hard-core.

No kidding! When I hear the "missing" soundtrack, I automatically change channels. Wish FOX would ditch the tabloid entertainment at expense of others - who cares about the daily tidbits of gossip from the Kobe Byrant case. Poor Greta - at least on CNN she was discussing constitutional law.
