"We formed Swift Boat Veterans For Truth for one purpose: to present to the American public our conclusion that John Kerry is not fit to be commander in chief. We are organized as a "527 group" with Adm. Roy Hoffmann at the helm, our leader today as he was some 35 years ago when we served under him in Coastal Squadron One in Vietnam. Our membership is transparent and shown on our Web site, www.swiftvets.com, currently including more than 250 Swiftees. We have 17 of the 23 officers who served with Mr. Kerry, most of his chain of command, and most sailors. We have more than 60 winners of real Purple Hearts. No one has a better right than we do to speak to the matters involving our unit. Are we controlled by the Bush-Cheney campaign? Absolutely not. The Swift boat veterans who joined our group come in all political flavors: independents, Republicans, Democrats and other more subtle variations. Had another person been the presidential candidate of the Democrats, our group never would have formed. Had Mr. Kerry been the Republican candidate, each of us would still be here."

"Arrington, 26, has become the most prominent athlete in the Washington area since being drafted second overall in 2000, forging a bond with Redskins fans. He is one of them -- a rabid football follower who collects memorabilia and idolizes past stars -- and says he considers it an honor to play for them on Sundays. His witty personality and the seeming ease with which he carries himself has helped make Arrington the face of the Redskins, taking the mantle handed down from cornerback Darrell Green, who retired in 2002 after playing 20 seasons in Washington."
Being a Nittany Lion, LaVar was always one of the Sultan's favorite Skins...he's probably my favorite, too, since Darrell Green retired!!

"Dubyuh's Got Faith!!"
(To be sung to Eric Clapton's "Running On Faith")
One...two...three...four...
Lately Right's been running on Faith...
Searchin' fer Justice and Truth.
But our World will be Right...
When Dubyuh sings our tune.
Lately, I've been wond'rin' why I FReep...
Shrinkin' government's that fer which I pray.
Protect the World from Left's slime...
Please Dubyuh, join the fray!!
Right's always been...
Willin' to help thru taxes that we pay.
Seems like by now...
Right'd find a Prez who cares...fer Liberty!!
Then we'd go running on faith
All of Right's dreams shall come true!!
All the world will be Right...
When Dubyuh loathes Big Guv'ment, too!!
(Sweet guitar pickin' by the BigMan)
Right's always been...
One to fight fer that fer which we pray!!
Seems like by now...
We'd find a Prez who cares...fer Liberty!!
Won't believe Pubbies on faith...
All of Right's dreams shall come true!!
Lead the world 'cuz we're Right...
George Dubyuh, you can join US, too!!
Yes, you can...
And Rush shall support you...
Then Sean shall support you...
And MUD shall support you...
All of Right's dreams shall come true...
The Right shall support you...

Thank you so much for the lyrics! Kudos!
Mudboy's favorite image of Hillary!
Although, I have to stick up for Jim Kelley.
Not only was he a spectacular quarterback (Steering his team to an unprecedented four consecutive appearances in the Super Bowl.), but he was also-to the best of my knowlege-a huge supporter of the GOP in its unsuccessful-unfortunately-quest to defeat HRC.

BWAHAHAHAHA!! How dare you spoil the purity of the Black threads with such an indecent photo...LOL!! I'm also travelin' up to NOVA fer our annual FantasyFootballLeague draft this evening...should be a HOOt!!

BTW...does anybody know if there are any spots available in the FReeper fantasy league?! I'd love to take over the Sultan's squad if y'all are playing again.
Fer the first 5-6 years I lived in Richmond (mid- to late- 80's), I played in a FlagFootballLeague in which Jim's brothers participated. I was actually on the same team as two of them before creating my own squad. Jim Kelly made it to games every once in awhile, but one year when there was a strike, he actually played on an opposing team...it was pretty cool. He's a genuinely good dude, imho.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' "BY THE WAY"
Standing in line
To see the show tonight
And theres a light on
Heavy glow
By the way I tried to say
Id be there... waiting for
Dani the girl
Is singing songs to me
Beneath the marquee... overload
Steak knife caro shark
Con job boot cut
Skin that flick
Shes such a little dj
Get there quick
By street but not the freeway
Turn that trick
To make a little leeway
Beat that nic
But not the way that we play
Dog town blood bath
Rib cage soft tail
Standing in line
To see the show tonight
And theres a light on
Heavy glow
By the way I tried to say
Id be there... waiting for
Black jack dope dick
Pawn shop quick pick
Kiss that dyke
I know you want to hold one
Not on strike
But Im about to bowl one
Bite that mic
I know you never stole one
Girls that like
A story so I told one
Song bird main line
Cash back hard top
Standing in line
To see the show tonight
And theres a light on

Folks, make your travel plans now for the Kerry Lied rally in Washington Sept 12, 2PM at the Upper Senate Park beside the US Capitol building. For details go to www.kerrylied.com
We're working our butts off getting the rally ready, travel and lodging is up to you, so reserve early. Here are a few tips.
Dress decent for the rally. Remember, some people still believe the false image of Vietnam vets as bums dressed in ragged fatigues. Show them we are normal Americans who work for a living.
Bring your American flags, small ones if you have them so our rally crowd is an ocean of patriotism both in appearance and in fact.
If you have unit banners, you might want to bring them.
If you want to carry a sign and don't know what to put on it, one suggestion is something like "Stolen Honor, Stolen Valor."
Bring an umbrella just in case.
If the opposition sends troublemakers, please ignore them, please do not engage them, please do not touch them. The DC police will be in attendance, let them handle things, we want to show our purpose is totally peaceful.
We have a terrific lineup of speakers, we expect a large crowd, and we look forward to seeing you there so we can all tell the world John Kerry is not who he says he was long ago, and he is not who he says he is today.
Be there!

GOP Platform: We're all Big Government Conservatives Now
by Richard Lessner - Executive Director, ACU
NEW YORK The 2004 Republican Platform Committee finished its work this afternoon. It wasn't a pretty picture.
You have to give the Bush political operation credit: they badly outflanked the party conservatives. By the time delegates gathered here in New York for the platform committee work, the game was already over. The Bush operation made certain that the committee, selected by state parties, was packed with loyalists. Any chance of a conservative uprising over the platform was DOA.
The most controversial plank in the draft platform was on immigration, specifically President Bush's proposal for a guest worker program for illegal aliens, a plan that also would put those who entered America unlawfully on the path to U.S. citizenship. This idea is wildly unpopular with grassroots Republicans and the Bush people know it. So
the fix was in. Any effort by the handful of conservatives on the rubber-stamp platform committee to amend or delete the offending plank on immigration were trumped by a series of strong-arm tactics and procedural maneuverings.
Not that the bullying tactics mattered much. The platform delegates comported themselves like a flock of obedient sheep. Taking their cues from committee co-chairmen Sen. Bill Frist and Colorado Gov. Bill Owens, delegates even rejected amendments drawn word-for-word from the
2000 GOP platform.
While there is much in the platform to please conservatives, there is also plenty to infuriate. Just eight years after the GOP platform called for the abolition of the U.S. Department of Education, the 2004
platform boasts, "President Bush and Congressional Republicans have provided the largest increase in federal education funding in history and the highest percentage gain since the 1960s [only a last-minute amendment deleted a reference to LBJ at this point] ... Support for
elementary and secondary education has had the largest increase in any single Presidential term since the 1960s an increase of nearly 50 percent since 2001."
A Texas delegate, introducing an amendment to delete this mind-boggling big government boast, said it sounded like something out of the Democratic Platform rather than anything identifiably Republican. The amendment was overwhelmingly crushed.
And that's how it went here in New York. I guess it's true: We're all big government conservatives now.
