XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN JULY 25, 2004 23:33:04 ET XXXXX

TERESA TELLS REPORTER TO 'SHOVE IT'

Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic nominee John Kerry, told a reporter to 'shove it' on Sunday evening -- immediately after giving a speech calling for a more civil tone in politics.

Speaking to the Pennsylvanian delegation at the statehouse in Boston, Heinz Kerry delivered an impassioned plea against hate politics:

"We need to turn back some of the creeping, un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics."

"I remember a time when people in political parties in Pennsylvania talked to one another and actually got things done. We have to go back to those days when we can do things properly, for the people need it."

"My prayers for you, for me, for the country, for the world, are that we keep this at a high level, with dignity, with respect and with a great idealism and courage that took our forefathers to build this great nation."

According to multiple sources who attended the event, Heinz Kerry upon finishing the speech pushed her way through the Secret Service to get to Pittsburgh Tribune Review reporter, Colin McNickle. Upon getting to Mcnickle, Heinz Kerry asks, 'Are you from the Tribune Review' Mcnickle says, 'Yes, I am.'

At this point and in an irritated fashion Heinz Kerry says, 'Of course, understandable. You said something I didnt say. Now Shove it!'

Tape of the incident is being edited to air on Pittsburgh's WTAE-TV, and, according to a media source, ABC NEWS is set to run with it thereafter.

A witness of the incident said reporters were "stunned" by Heinz Kerry's outburst, especially in light of the speech she had just given.

Series. I just studied that picture. He is truly a pathetic creature... I don't know what to say if that excuse for an American, representing our Republic, ever gets near the White House. Maybe the Christians In Action could have a long distance conversation with him, and change his mind.

If Teresa Heinz Kerry glances to her right when she speaks from the convention podium tomorrow night, she won't have any trouble spotting some of the same Pennsylvanians who cheered her last night. During convention business, the Pennsylvania delegates will be assembled in one of the prime locations in the front of the hall, just below one of the two speakers' stands. Their rows of lightly padded folding chairs are just behind those of Sen. John Edwards' North Carolina delegation and beside those of the New Mexico contingent.

Slightly more than half of Pennsylvania 207 delegates were elected in the April primary. The balance include members of Congress and party officials and 66 appointed spots determined by Democratic leaders, including Gov. Ed Rendell; state Rep. T.J. Rooney, the state chairman, and the Kerry campaign.

Rooney describes the delegation as "perhaps the most diverse we've ever had."

"We have 28 African-Americans, seven Latinos, five Asian-Americans, and five members of the gay and lesbian community."

The group is less diverse chronologically, however, with the vast majority 40 or older.

The delegation's day begins early, although no one will be taking attendance. Today's breakfast session is scheduled to feature remarks from Rendell and Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is scheduled to speak tomorrow and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean will talk to the group later in the week.

Among local Democrats heading to Boston are Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato, county Controller Mark Flaherty, Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy, former Mayor Sophie Masloff, Recorder of Deeds Eileen Wager, Register of Wills Valerie Roberts and Jury Commissioner Jean Milko.

Labor leaders include William George, president of the state AFL-CIO; AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Rick Bloomingdale; United Steelworkers Vice President Leon Lynch; Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers President Al Fondy; and Jack Shea, president of the Allegheny County Labor Council.

Thanks for providing that excellent video link, finnman!

Until I actually saw her in action, I had no idea she was so thoroughly crazy.

Somebody better call the guys with the nets.

I can hardly blame someone for getting testy with the clods in the press, even if it is her.

I don't think "her" got testy. Maybe she got testy. Furthermore, when one is the First Lady of the United Staes, the First Lady should not use this language, nor demeanor. President Bush's wife, Laura is a charming, soft spoken Lady. Don't you see a difference? Kerry's wife is a gold-digger, worth close to a $1,000,000,000, and Kerry, her husband is a pimp, gigilo. Now, if you want to make a decision for whom you want to elect for the President of the United States; just send the gold-digger, Mrs. Heins-Kerry a love letter and ask her for a $50,00 donation to your family's trust fund. I'm sure you will receive a certified check when hell freezes over.

I think that other reporters should try to get Teresa to express her other views on other issues more often. I'm looking forward to it.

Terry Kerry claims to wear ONLY Ralph Lauren, because his clothes hang so well/travel well and she needs lots of pants suits for this campaign.

If you dressed a rhinoceros in Ralph Lauren it would still look fairly unappealing.

Could her conniption fits be a side-effect of Botox?

"Did she assault him too? It's looks like she grabbed his arm!"

Grabbing his arm is battery, technically.

Jabbing her finger at him repeatedly while screaming in his face is assault.

Having her spokeswoman publicly state that McNickle and his paper have consistently and deliberately lied about her could, under most circumstances, result in a defamation suit.

Can y'all make a bumper sticker with that expression, "Just Shove It", signed by Lady Heinz-Kerry. I'm in NC; and think it'd go a long way, politically here in the South. We all know that Edwards is a sell-out to Yankee rich Kerry. This would sort of cement our arguement. It's like beef stew. Y'all gotta get the get the ingrediaents together and then 'stir the pot.' He he he!

"I wonder if she was drunk?"

I watched her speech very carefully and she was definitely intoxicated on something.

I have seen interviews wherein she has come off as extremely odd. I wonder if she is on one of those radical antidepressant drugs (Zoloft, etc.) that can turn people into completely uninhibited psychopaths.

Would that be a model of a marijuana delivery device?

Jeeze. Must be a lot of old, retired experts here. LOL. I've responded to at least four of us before I landed here. Ahhh. The days of sweetness in the late sixties, going for my MBA degree and a few days off to smell the flowers in Estes Park Colorado, at 13,000 feet riding my old BMW R/50 twin with my fiance holding my chest.

You mean Leno, scratch Letterman. Letterman is a Democrat hack and has been for a long time. He's gotten particularly nasty about it this year.
