Good thing we're watching them. Hopefully the CIA/FBI is doing checks on every suspicious person.

"Given the facts, they had no legal basis to take an enforcement action. But there was enough of a suspicious nature for the FAMS, passengers and crew to take notice."

Then they should be deported!

"It's a probe. They are probing us," said a second air marshal, who confirmed that Middle Eastern men try to flush out marshals by rushing the cockpit and stopping suddenly.

If it's illegal to discuss a bomb in an airport or on a plane, or even mention the word, why is it legal to feign hijacking an airplane? You lock a few of these probers up as examples and lose the keys for awhile and it might curtail the behavior a bit.

"The group had been hired as musicians to play at a casino"

Some one needs to check out this casino. Why are they hiring Syrians as musicians? The guy that hired them is probably a terrorist as well.

There is another thread about how liberals are going to get us all killed. This PC business has to stop. All people of middle eastern descent should not be allowed on airplanes, period.

The marshal found the mirror had been removed and the man was attempting to break through the wall. The cockpit was on the other side.

ARRRGGHHH!!

'"It's a probe. They are probing us," said a second air marshal, who confirmed that Middle Eastern men try to flush out marshals by rushing the cockpit and stopping suddenly.'

Exactly.

They're trying to identify the air marshalls. That way they can avoid the flights that have known air marshalls on them or target any air marshall as the first passenger to be killed during a terrorist attack.

All these Arabs involved in this need to be sent to Guantanomo for interrogation.

We need to move against Iran and its Al-Qa'ida operatives NOW.

"Middle Eastern men are staking out airports, probing security measures and conducting test runs aboard airplanes for a terrorist attack."

Do you think these "Middle Eastern men" would even be contemplating highjacking commercial aircraft in the U.S. if our government did not unconstitutionally prohibit a private property owner from inviting it's customers to share in the protection of that property and other customers and bring their firearms onboard?

With 10 ,30 ,60, 100 armed citizens on board, the probability of a successful highjacking is so diminished that it would not even be attempted.

We used the concept of "mutually assured destruction" as our basis to repel the Soviet Union for many years.

Why not the same concept for terrorists and crimminals?

No, but the sheeple of this country think that their "government" can protect them, which should be abundantly clear that it cannot.

I read the article posted here last week that was in the Women's Wall Street Journal and followed the subsequent replies. There was a huge thread on it. Now this article in the Washington Times not only confirms the other article but also mentions additional instances of the terrorists probing our weaknesses. It is interesting to note from this article that the flight crews and air marshalls are very concerned and are trying to get the information to the attention of the public as they realize that current airline security is NOT working. What is it going to take?

Sounds like a diversion to me: get Homeland Security excessively focused on airline security while they slip the nuclear bombs into place through lightly guarded seaports.

The next attack will likely be very different from 9/11, something unexpected (though obvious in retrospect).

The men spoke in Arabic among themselves ... one of the men took his camera into the lavatory. Another took his cell phone.

It is possible to make a stun gun out of a disposible camera.

Anthem Artists website showing Nour Mehana show date on July 1 at the Sycuan Casino & Resort:

Here's an album by the band:

A page with some videos of the band:

http://hometown.aol.com/musicaxis/mehana.htm

From all the hits on Google about this band, they look fairly popular and they have at least two albums out. I suppose it's possible they could be a sleeper cell but it doesn't seem likely.

Someone in that blog I linked to commented that Muslims are supposed to pray something like 5 times a day, and they have to kneel down to do it. That would be one explanation for why all of them used the bathroom at different times.

Wondering how our government officials are protecting you, the flying public? The FARs state that the captain has the authority to deny boarding to anyone he choses for security reasons, yet the airlines are being fined right and left every time a flight crew does this. The not so subtle message - political correctness is more important than the safety of Americans or the ongoing viability of the airline industry as a whole. American Airlines fined for passenger profiling American Airlines has agreed to a $US1.5 million settlement in order to avoid further disciplinary action over post-September 11 incidents in which Arab, Muslim and South Asian passengers were illegally removed from American flights. The US Department of Transportation found the airline violated federal discrimination laws and has ordered it to "cease and desist." American Airlines also agreed to spend at least $US1.5 million over the next three years on civil rights training for its employees, particularly flight attendants and passenger service staff, who deal directly with the public, as part of the deal. In exchange, the Government has agreed to drop enforcement proceedings stemming from an investigation that found American Airlines guilty of violating anti-discrimination laws. The Texan-based carrier did not admit any violations. "Concerns about aviation security in the days following the September 11, 2001 attacks do not justify illegal discrimination against passengers," said US Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta in a statement. The Government reached a similar agreement with United Airlines in November 2003. American Arabs and Arab-American groups complained of widespread profiling of US Arabs following the hijacking of four planes by Arab men on September 11. http://www.optusnet.com.au/news/story/abc/20040302/17/business/1057330.inp

I had a nightmare last night that I was being forced to take a vacation which would involve flying. I don't often remember dreams, but this one was vivid.

I'm glad it was just a dream.
