It's about time that Congress decides to use its Constitutional power to reign in unelected activist judges.
And as to the issue of state courts adopting an "unfavorable" interpretation of the DOMA...well, from a truly federalist standpoint, is this bad? Shouldn't the states, really, be handling this anyhow? I'm torn on this issue...on one hand, I believe it to be primarily a state-level issue and am squirrely about a Constitutional amendment defining marriage; but on the other hand, as a Christian, I can't stand seeing the institution of marriage destroyed. Decisions, decisions.

Proud that John is my Congressman, but have to admit I don't think this bill will stand court review. There needs to be more radical steps taken in combating judicial activism.
something to read and consider
This only works for the Dems!

Late last month, Congress approved an amendment sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., to allow emergency clearing in two areas of the Black Hills at risk for fire. The measure, signed by President Bush, waives key environmental laws and blocks court challenges by logging opponents.
