Although that is an interesting rendition of the story. I have read in various places that that man had sex with the apes, that he was gay and had sex with apes. They do not know how it started. They can only theorize. Instead of pointing fingers at the gay community, you should reread the portion of my post that explains to you the real culprit behind the evils of sex. PROMISCUITY. Who they had sex with is moot. The fact that it was done outside all conventional relationships is the root of the problem. Promiscuity is the sickness. Treat that, and all the other problems will literally vanish. The fact that our culture is so sex driven is killing us. We have a President in office that is getting extramarital fun in the friggin oval office. And he wasn't the first. Through out our history we have been plagued by infidelity in marriage. Your explanation of the separation of Church and State was seriously flawed and circular. The constitution protects the religious office. That is a distinct lack of separation. There should be no tax breaks for churches, there should be no special laws governing an office that was started by the church. The only reason the government is even considering the gay marriage is because marriage was erringly made into a government function. The civil union should have the same legal representation as the marriage. In all honesty, it should have more. The church should get absolutely NO say in a government it does not help pay for. Marriage should have never been "protected by the Constitution". It should be protected by the church. If the church doesn't want gay marriages, then it should stop performing them. There is a massive division in what is termed "church". There are gay churches, there are mainstream denominations that are supporting the freedom of marriage to all. The government is not "forcing" anything on anyone. As for the gay agenda, I have already agreed with you in the fact that it should not be a political force. Why can you not agree that the church should be the same.

Well, since we only deal in intelligent humans, that argument is not only ridiculous, but shows a distinct fear and jealousy of how secure I am in not caring about the physical. Something supposed Christians are told to embrace. Hate the sin, not the sinner. Treat others as you would be treated. Celibate monks of old denied the physical in a "marriage" to God. Sex in not a need, it is a pleasure. We need food to survive, but it doesn't have to be solely comprised of steak. We can experience other things. We can raise above our original biological programming. We have. It shows every time someone is killed for whatever reason. Nature predominately kills only for food. We do not. We destroy because we can. Nature does not. Even God teaches us to kill. Read the entirety of the Old testament. Entire civilizations were destroyed merely for being "sinful" in the Eyes of God. But in all honesty, I do not know that my feelings for my wife would be different if she were a man. I know that I would have missed out on 2 wonderful children, at least by the laws you wish to keep in place, but I know our love would endure all things.

1: love has a use, it provides a bond that is needed to be mentally healthy. love does not have to be sexual in nature. however, an intimate reltaionship with a member of the opposite sex is required in a healthy adult's life.

2: love or not, we are talking about marriage and what role the government has in it. this being a politcal forum, and this thread being about homosexuality, we are talking a bit more broadly. the state's roll in our religious traditions.

3: love is not sex or a choice in bed mates. it is a bond between two people. the physical attraction happens between a healthy male and female.

1: homosexuality is not a mutation, it is a choice. typically arived to by a disturbed mind.

2: i never said anything like "breed them out" i said "heal them." we have treated it in the past, it works, no evidence YET has come close to proving homosexuality is a healthy life choice. yet we have the evidence of psychology, biology, and even society to provide why it would be unhealthy.

and if broken down to its barest practicality, homosexuality is unnecessary. however, religion and marriage do something that homosexuality does not. forms a focal point for a GROUP. thus our very existance in a societal format comes from them.

as i have stated before, and others before me as well: there is no evidence that overrides our previous convictions that homosexuality, as a way of life, is lead by a mentally unsound person. you can provide nothing to negate that because there is nothing that negates the truth. there is no "new evidence" aside from a few strongarms demanding the APA take it off the books. and that's called politics, not science.

loving a (same sex) best friend is great. thats why guys still have them. but there is something only a man and wife can do, and that is have a relationship that crosses the gender gap and becomes one life. i highly doubt you would have not found a woman to marry if your wife had turned out to be male. you simply would have made a best friend of him and gone about looking for a mate.
