That is a stop-gap measure to prevent the secular humanists from having their monopoly in public education. But, yes, ultimately I do not want to see even this much of a hand of the Government in the area of education.

Ultimately I would like the States to decide what is taught in their schools...religious or not.

The Faith Based Initiative is a government program (socialism) for religious organizations to provide social services. I was not aware of any involvement it has with the public educational system.
