July 13, 2004 -- WASHINGTON Some Republican activists are launching a boycott of SlimFast diet products to protest SlimFast spokeswoman Whoopi Goldberg's X-rated rant against President Bush at a New York fund-raiser for Democrat John Kerry last week.Chat pages on pro-Bush Web sites like FreeRepublic.com are posting links for complaints to SlimFast or parent company Unilever, along with reports from angry consumers about what they wrote in their complaints.

Why would slim fast want her as a spokesthing, anyway? Kinda like asking someone from PETA to model your fur coats, whilst eating a Big Mac.
Maybe I can take her job??
Whoopi endorses SlimFast? Really? Has she ever used it?
We're a "Chat Page"?!
We're a "Pro-Bush," site?
Hmmmmm. Last I checked, we are a pro-CONSERVATIVE site.
And damn proud of it, I might add!
I stopped buying Slimfast products on my own awhile back because of Whoopi. In fact I haven't bought anything endorsed by people like Whoopi or George Clooney or Ted Danson or Alec Baldwin or any of that bunch recently. Their endorsements just make the products unappealing to me because they seem so mean spirited.
Funny you should mention that. I recently saw this ad and couldn't understand why they chose her. She's still fat, but what I think they did was to put her in an even larger size pair of pants than she usually wears so they she can stretch the waistband to show she's lost weight.
Aside from that, she looks like something even the cat wouldn't drag in.
You got yourself some "W" ketchup, though, right?
I just ordered mine yesterday.
I wonder what Deborah Orin's FR handle is? :)
She is certainly one of the better reporters out there.

I won't even watch their movies on TV. They repulse me.
Well, I'm certainly NOT buying that other brand. and I'm not too fond of Paul Newman's products either. I prefer Marie's dressings. It seems like a friendlier choice.
Whoopi is a masochist.
She makes herself look as ugly as possible and gives herself a degrading name.
Now why would Slimfast choose someone like that to represent them? Either they are the biggest idiots around, or they have found that marketing to people who hate themselves pays great dividends.
BTW, is 'Whoopi' a lesbian? I know that she hooked up with Ted Danson, and married after that, but she is just so manly looking and acting.
Heh-heh-heh!
One FReeper said that it tastes better than Heinz. There's quite the backlog for orders, though.
I was even going to start looking up recipes for homemade ketchup. Been buying Hunt's for about three years.
BTW, is 'Whoopi' a lesbian?
Don't think so. She has kids and a series of boyfriends.
What was SlimFast thinking when they hired Whoopi? Did they think that women watching their ad would say, "Wow, maybe if I drank SlimFast I could be as thin and beautiful as Whoopi too!" Maybe they should fire their maketing strategist also.
Naw, just a garden-variety Ho' who drank one too many cans of UglyFast.
I've enjoyed Slimfast for years and I had no idea that Whoopi was a spokesperson. I live overseas, so how would I know? But now I do and I just e-mailed the company explaining why I will no longer use their product.
