"Stan Komen, a liquor store owner in Peoria, Ill., said he had not heard of the beheading of Mr. Johnson until a reporter called. "But I'm not surprised."
He also said he was not surprised to learn that the suspects in the slaying are leaders of the al Qaeda terrorist network in Saudi Arabia.
As for whether the gruesome beheading of another American in the Mideast strengthens his support for the war on terrorism, Mr. Komen said, "Al Qaeda seems to be the war on terror. If we deal with them, we deal with terrorism."
At the same time, he said, the United States needs to find away to get out of Iraq "in some honorable fashion."
Stan Komen is a fool. If we pull out they will have won and this wil encourage new attacks. I hope everybody on this discussion group who lives in Peoria boycotts this guy's store.
"If we leave them alone they'll stop bothering us", this guy says in effect.
What a fool.
We are at war because Islam has declared war on us. Our free and open and multic-cultural and tolerant society is a thereat to them and everything they hold dear. They know that when the smoke clears, only ONE of us can be left standing. And the sooner people like Komen realize that, the better.
Regarding your post #10, unless there are a lot of Stan Komen's, this latest news just has to help President Bush.
Unfortunately, I think that there may be a lot of cowardly Komen's in this country.
