There have been 10 state funerals since the beginning; JFK's is just the last one we've seen.

Eisenhower passed away in Washington, D.C. in '69. Wouldn't his have been the last? I don't remember it though. I should. I was 22 at the time. Here's a link to info about Ike's funeral:

Thanks for the info about the funerals--I didn't know Nixon didn't want one.

I'm not "age enhanced" enough to remember JFK's! :-)
