I realize my example is from a different state - but I am sure it is no different in Maine.

There is not much we can do about it. These are not elected officials.......we can't vote them in or out of office. They set down the rules and we have to eat them. I don't know what the answer is, but they are in the power seat to control and restrict us all.

For some reason, this gives me the shivers!

I think we are both right and wrong.

It is the elected folks who make the laws, but give the power of making the specific rules for implementation to those that are not elected.

By getting rid of the one elected we have a bit more control over the laws written, how they are written and who is given the power of writing the rules of enactment.

One of my biggest buggaboos about these things is that the laws give so much leeway to people not answerable to the taxpayers who are ultimately their employers.

For many reasons it all gives me the shivers.
