President Bush apologizes to Iraqi prisoners and enemy combatants for humiliating them (no longer abusing them) but he won't apologize to Americans and 9/11 families.

First reaction was upset that President Bush said he was sorry this happened. A few minutes later, I laughed. Any further clamoring by libs/demsDem's do will be perceived as piling on the troops during these difficult times.
I agree with Glenn's analysis of this. So sorry you had a bad day, sorry she stubbed her toe. It is not "I am sorry" for anything.
I, too, think this was the President's way of short circuiting the media on this. Now they have to run back to DNC to get the new talking points.
I have no doubt that Rummy will handle the inquisitors, who want his head on a pike, with his usual aplomb.
