The Toomey/Specter battle is going to give the Dems lots of ammo, that's all I'm saying.

What you are saying is absolutely nothing, it is intellectually vacuous arguing at best; that a primary battle is going to be divisive for a general election?

Really? Shocking! Tell us more, while you are at it, tell me why all those Dobsonites that are turning out are going to vote for the most outspoken proabort Republican in the Senate so he can have the honor of deciding on Judicial nominees?

Whether or not Snarlin is successful in hanging on in the primary, he has burned up his $10 million warchest and is finished in the general election. Clearly he needs to spend money to get votes, paying student $75 a day to "volunteer" while Toomey gets them for free. Why would a Kerry supporter vote to keep the GOP in the majority in the Senate? These are things that just don't pass the smell test. If I was a Dem there's no way I would want the GOP to control the Senate.

Your line of thinking is plagued with fear, and makes little sense when you get into it. I don't think you have thought it all out yet and ask you do.

Just curious. Will the fact of the closeness of this race perhaps bring some pressure to bear on Specter if he wins? Wouldn't he have to acknowledge the conservatism of his constituents if they vote for Toomey in such large numbers?

Uh, this is pretty much conventional wisdom, and if you are challenging a basic fact about politics, I wonder about the rest of your analysis.

Well said, my man! Either way you look at it Specter's political career is toast. Conservatives would be fools to support him in the general if he unfortunately wins the primary. And we all know that liberals aren't going to support Specter when they can get out-and-out socialism from Hoeffel.
