Doesn't the "east side" of Anywhere, USA have a bad reputation? Detroit, Chicago, Toledo, St. Louis, Cleveland. You name it, the "east side" is where to find trouble.

No, it's the *west* side that is bad in most US cities, East St. Louis and Cincinnati being the principal exceptions.

(Upper) East Side in New York is the wealthiest neighborhood in the nation. (Lower) East Side was once bad, but now yuppified.

Except that there's no east side of Chicago because of Lake Michigan.

In Chicago, it's actually the West Side where the trouble is. The east side is the lake.
