I actually know two of the guys in one of these bands quite well. Disappointed to see them on this loser list. But what do you expect from guys who sing songs about teen angst - in their 40's

Are you refering to the band Ministry? They've been around a long time, since disco morphed into dance-techno.

They are on the wrong path! The Anti-Nowhere League needs to get back together and show those guys the real thing! The ANL caused riots that helped Yugoslavia become "former", and screwed up a few other European cities as well.

Current punks are democrat silly putty whereas they should be anarchists.

REAL punk bands don't seem to subscribe to this ideology.

One must be reminded that being "fashionably political" has unfortunately become a cottage industry. There is much money to be made on the sale of left wing platitudes in the form of records, concerts, merchandise and just about anything else connected with "skateboard punk". This is disappointing on two fronts. Firstly the music suffers. When rock and roll takes itself too seriously, it looses the very "subversive" spirit that it attempts to embrace. It becomes devoid of wit and quite parochial. I find this ironic, for in THIS sense it even ceases to be "liberal". And secondly, how can kids be invited to seek understanding about various sides of an issue when they are compelled by this "edgy" muzak to take a stand...and a "it's hip to be angry" one at that! This brings to mind a quote from Winston Churchill--"If a man is not Liberal in his youth, he has no heart. If not Conservative when older, he has no brain." I'm here to help.
