I've been to Clearwater, and the most striking building on the waterway between Clearwater (on the mainland) and Clearwater Beach island is the Scientology center. It's a large complex that looks like a *very* posh country club. Between the location (prime Florida oceanfront property) and the elaborate buildings, it obviously cost an *enormous* amount of money. One wonders where that kind of cash comes from.
