I have advocated from the start, a complete disarming of the Iraqi populace in preparation for a lasting peace there.

Complete disarming of a populace leave the populace vulnerable, to the extent disarmament is actually accomplished. The rest of your post is right on the money, work toward the goal of eliminating those who take the initiative to use force offensively.

Sarah Brady is trying to rid guns from a stable society. I am advocating eliminating guns and explosives from the populace in a war zone. When Iraq is stabalized and able to function on it's own two feet, I have no problem whatsoever with them once again allowing private citizen ownership.

You're comparing me to Sarah Brady, is like comparing our citizens with former Republican Guard members in Iraq.

the towelhead die-hards only understand one thing--overwhelming force--even then we will still have the teenage homicide bombers--notice in these crowds the average age is between 15 and 25--the older towlies, presumably a little smarter, stay home.

Shouldn't we consider allowing a mini-Civil War within Iraq and let the crazies kill one another until they have been bled white and willing to try OUR PLAN?

That's contrary to the plan we're executing, would throw a big wrench in it, actually. Contrary to what people like JK and Wes Clark say, we actually do have a plan.

However, this, combined with what happened in Fallujah the other day, indicates that things may be heating up in a way that we did not foresee.

What the hell are we doing over there? Why are we holding back? The Arab mind simply does not understand ANYTHING except the merciless application of brutal force. We are rapidly losing control of the situation. The only chance we have to take the upper hand is all of the following:

1. Arrest of any and all Muslim "leaders", imams, etc. who are fomenting rebellion. Any speech calling for violence against the coalition must lead to their arrest and immediate explusion to Guantanamo, with their mosques also shut down indefinitely.
2. Massive force must be applied in key Sunni Triangle cities such as Falujah, Najah, etc. Strict curfews must be enforced, with no regard to civilian casualties for curfew breakers.
3. Immediate declaration that Sharia Law will be BANNED by the U.S. in a future Iraqi state, much as we made similar declarations in postwar Japan. The weasely State Dept has blocked this time and again. It simply must be stated, by the President if need be, so as to totally crush any hopes of Iran and Saudi Arabia that a Muslim state can ever exist, and also to weed out the most extremist "religious" elements for arrest and /or deporation.

So is true. I am totally fuming here. I said enough of playing nonsense of condemning this or that by people who have no respect for life.

Time to address this in a right way == total annihilation of villages and cities by force. Total iron grip and final blow to Iran and Syria, for which I belive I stubing USA in a back.

Total occupation of Saudi Arabia oil fields as Nixon wanted to do it. Sounds crazy, but let me tell you something, once you hit them, there will not be enough Arabs in a world to cry wolf when we take their oil off.

War is cruel, but war is war. Takes guts and reality check, we are being stab in a back guys. Can these idiots in media understand this! This is a battle if ideology.

This is a war that needs to be won, and if means to wipe out half of their population so be it. Otherwise, more innocent will die by hands of fanatics and murders.

Sorry, but my patience of tolerance is gone.

God Bless
Bogdan

PS. It is Palm Sunday, time of reflection and love, somehow, I am starting to miss whole concept, when I see murders killing innocent and we do nothing. I love God and I know I don’t hate, but we have right of self defense.

Another problem is political correctness. Taking action against those practicing militant Islam is not seen viable by the US, because it fears it willl look like a war against Islam.

This is why we cannot ever win given the present situation of intentional weakness. Every Muslim imam/leader who urges on violence against the coalition, whether in mosque or public must be arrested and sent to Guantanamo, with brutal force used against his followers if they dare revolt with weapons. When mosque "prayers" are hard to distinguish from terror training sessions, it is time to shut them down. Also, it must be stated categorically that Iraq can never have Sharia law as part of its constitution.

I am advocating eliminating guns and explosives from the populace in a war zone.

If you were in a war zone would you give up your gun? And if you were feeling altruistic, do you think your neighbor whose been a warlord all his life will be?

I think the solution is the exact opposite: start giving the law abiding Iraqiis arms and showing them how to use them. Granted some might sell them to terrorists, but how is that different from what we have now?

Yes it does sound crazy to piss off the 1.25B of the 1.3B Muslims that aren't angry with us.

This is a war that needs to be won, and if means to wipe out half of their population so be it.

Well thankfully you aren't in control here. The war can be won by surgically taking out the extremists, spreading democracy, and not by killing everyone in sight.

Pay attention here. Democracy there is the only hope. Focus. THE OIL IS RUNNING OUT. And every drop China's explosive growth consumes is one less drop for US GDP growth to use. Take a look at GDP growth charts and oil consumption for the 20th century. They Track Precisely.

If you want your economy to grow, you must burn oil. Iraq has a lot of it and We Are Not Leaving. We will turn sovereignty over to the Iraqi's but we will not be pulling all troops out. We will have the Iraqis patrol their own territory but we will not be pulling out. We can enforce many edicts from the air, but the oil cannot be given to the Shiite extremists.

The die is cast, people. There is no closing your eyes and pretending that all we need to do is drill in ANWR and we have all the oil we need. It Is Running Out. We've got 35 years or so. It's either us who gets those 35 years or someone else. Who do you want it to be?

There is no real choice here. Victory is the only alternative because this entire century depends on what happens there.

If it takes more troops on the ground, then we need to make it extemely clear that we're going to bring in those troops until the attacks stop.

Keep dreaming.

The U.S. military presence is going to be scaled back dramatically by the end of this summer, regardless of whether or not Iraq is ready for it, and regardless of whether or not "they want us to leave."

Unless you are willing to see the body count rise, you're going to have to eliminate the means to effect that body count.

Individual Iraqis are not the targets. The police, occupational forces and political leaders are.

I might be willing to modify my stand to allow pistols for personal and family protection, but the large guns and explosives must be neutralized.

"assailants later regrouped in three clusters outside the base as the shooting continued for several hours". Am I a military genius OR does this sound like a !@#%% TARGET to anybody with "gunships circling overhead" ?

Bush is losing it on this past week if he let's his handlers keep him in the closet.

We DO need to let this go into a 3 part civil war and strengthen the weakest (which is probably the Kurds right now).
