I have not read replies on your thread yet and have not read the LA Times article, but I wanted to report that when I was out and about and had the radio on, ABC news reported (I think it was Ann Compton) that "The FBI followed John Kerry around" and tracked this group he belonged to back in the early 70's. She went on to say he issued a statement today saying he was surprised and dismayed that the FBI had done that.
I am biased and know what many listeners do not, but it made me wonder if a regular person would think "I wonder why the FBI monitored that group?". I couldn't help but think if more comes out on the nature of the Kansas City meeting that most Americans would agree they deserved monitoring.
OK, I'll read the replies. I hope Kerry's statement is posted.

Although the L.A. TIMES did the puff piece, the good news is that questions are being asked. Kerry got his spin out there, but now the door has been opened.
