It won't happen - as long as the shops are open and the sun is shining, people will go about their day. Even if they, at that point it'd be too late to do anything. For example, if they could shut down Rush, Free Republic would be nothing more than target practice.
Above ground things may appear to be "business as usual," but I would imagine the anticipated mobilization would immediately begin gurgling below ground and online. It becomes clearer why the government is plotting the total regulation of the internet these days.
Free Republic would indeed become a ghost town that same day Rush is taken out -- only though to fragment into a bunch of mini-versions...We can assume some strange days are on the way.
