I agree -- it's gonna be Max Cleland. I predicted this earlier tonight at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1089521/posts (see posts 7 & 21):

Why all the Kerry-promoting quotes from "former Senator Max Cleland" lately? He will be Kerry's VP candidate. Just picture it. A pair of wounded "war heroes" to attack the "wartime president." Don't forget -- you heard it here first.

It would be a bigger headline-getter and buzz-generator than Lieberman in 2000... nearly as much buzz as "first black candidate" or "first woman presidential candidate." All other issues would be sidelined for weeks.

Feb. 12 Boston Globe: “National security credentials are the most important assets that the Democratic presidential front-runner would use to choose a running mate, these [Kerry] aides said.”

John Breaux would deliver Louisiana and perhaps the election.

That font is torture!

I don't know what it said, but Kerry will select Edwards (who's been making googly-eyes at him for months now) to try to pick up some southern states.

He won't pick up any. The Cheney/Edwards debates will be studied for decades, basically negating the ability of boyish looking smarmy humps to get on a ticket for generations.

They'll split the top 4 states, with Kerry/Edwards winning California and NY. Bush/Cheney wins Texas and Florida, so that's a wash.

Overall, Bush/Cheney wins 32 or 33 states, and a fairly easy reelection.

I've never been wrong about anything ever, so you can all relax.

Kerry is also said to be unconvinced that Edwards is experienced enough to step in as a wartime president should something happen to him.

As if Kerry gives a crap.

If he really cared, Kerry would realize that Kerry is not able to function as a wartime president should nothing happen to him.

it's gonna be Max Cleland.

I'd see Kerry promising Sec. of Defense slot to Max "I'm so stupid that I pick up grenades" Cleland. Cleland couldn't carry any of the states in the south.

N.M., on the other hand, barely went Dimwit. A Richardson "Juan Valdez" selection picks up hispanic votes in Florida and alot of southwestern states. Combine this with voter fraud, and a Richardson pick means 2-3 states gained in '04 that Bush carried in '00.

I guess maybe nobody cares, but in my mind, Bill Richardson's personal visit to Monica Lewinsky's apartment at the Watergate, where he begged her to take a UN job, should negate him.

Nobody pays any attention to the fact that this guy was basically doing blow-job spin control, when he should have been worried about things like, oh I don't know, Al Qaeda or North Korea or Iraq or Pakistan or Afghanistan, etc.

Instead, he was running around trying to hush up the president's whore.

Hillary Clinton: What could be more fun?

Lots of things, actually.

No african americans on the ticket?? Why not?

Because the only qualified ones are in the other party.

Oh, and putting a black person on the ticket is about the only thing he could do to lose "liberal" Massachusetts.

1. Richardson (slapped down gay marriage in NM, Clinton crony, insures NM stays Dem)
2. Breaux (could deliver LA's electoral votes and keep the unions in line, perceived by Dems as strong on war and "pro-business")
3. Nunn or Cleland (perceived as "hawks" in Democratic circles, could make Georgia competitive)
4. Gephardt (strong with unions, strong in the rust belt, in tight with the Democratic Party hierarchy)
5. Hillary (elections trouble her, however...she'd rather be appointed for life to the Supreme Court, insures that Dems lose all of the Southern states if she's their VP half of their ticket)

Bill Richardson's personal visit to Monica Lewinsky's apartment at the Watergate, where he begged her to take a UN job, should negate him.

The Los Alamos spy scandal on his watch as Sec of Energy should also be a disqualifier. However, Richardson has the ethnicity card to play, and he will play it well.

Max Cleland

No way. They keep sticking him out front with his one issue broken record pitch (kerry the great war hero)and he's going to get chopped to bits. After that, they will throw hin away like a bag of garbage.

Former New Hampshire Gov. Jean Shehean as Kerry's running mate

You say it will be from a swing state with large electoral vote.

Then why did Bush choose Cheney and Gore choose Liberman in 2000? Both of them come from states that are steadfast Republican and Democrat, respectively

No african americans on the ticket?? Why not??

Kerry already took care of this issue on a radio program today when he said that Clinton was the first black president and he, Kerry, is looking forward to being the second black president.

Why doesn't the black population pound the Dems for this nonsense?

Don't get too excited. It won't be Hillary. What can she possibly add to the ticket? Not likes he needs to motivate the base or anything.
