With 4% of the LA same day votes counted, the margin there against 55 was slashed by more than half. It is going to get ugly soon.

Well, Measure 2 in the Bay Area is passing. So, we get more ferries! That will get people out of their cars. :-/

56 was by far the most important item on the ballot. It's getting blown away.....

But SF 100% in, San Mateo and Marin are 80-90% in. Alameda still only 1/3 in.
San Diego, Riverside, and San Berdu are still at 0%. Mayber there's hope.

Damn. My commute costs are going to go up, and the stinkin' ferries and trains and buses won't help a bit. The ads just infuriated me. Two people were chatting about the congested roads, and the woman pipes up about Measure 2, and how it would link ferries, buses and rails, and get more people out of their cars, so THEIR commute would be better. Were these two people going to get out of their cars? Noooooo, they wanted everyone ELSE to get out of theirs cars.

Orange County still at 0%, too.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

That's the spirit. I believe there's good reason to hope.

More than half of the count is absentee ballots still. The margin for 55 has been erased with only about 15% of the same day votes counted. Yep Frisco had been largely counted, but so has the more GOP county in the state, Placer County.

The Bay area was actually rather tepid about 55. It will win because of LA County. 55 cuts differently a bit from most issues facing Californians.
