How many were there? I heard 2000. Minimum 200, close to 300, maybe more at times. Hard to tell with the sidewalk and the scaffolding. At least half, maybe 60% were Vietnamese folks. The Vietnamese speakers were very vocal about their gratitude to the US.
The dictionary defines "Patriots" as people who love, support and defend their country. Those Vietnamese I had the honor to meet today are more patriot towards their adopted country than many people born here.

(How can they call it a "Peace March" when they unconditionally support those who kill our soldiers?)

We Vietnamese are forever grateful for the help America provided South Vietnam against the communist North. Since losing our country to the communist in 1975 America has taken us in and provided us a second home, so it's natural that we love this country no less than any native born American.
I'm happy to see my fellow Vietnamese standing up to the likes of John Kerry. We will never forget the aid & comfort he and the rest of the antiwar crowd had given to North Vietnam. I just wish that the Vietnamese community here in Southern California would take to the street to let everyone know what we really think of Benedict Kerry.

The Vietmese were very passionate. When I arrived they greeted me and said thank you and I gladly took pictures with them.
I saw one guy walking back and forth along along Park Avenue South, talking in his phone. Apparently, he was broadcasting the event over the phone.
I also met Too-Wong (sp?), who's a pharmacist in Boston. You could tell that he spoke from the heart as did everyone there.
