What is a Troll???? I was taught as a young child that a troll is a hideous creature that live under a bridge that wants to harm children.

Apparently, there are a few subscribers to Free Republic that consider themselves the Troll Patrol.

Some authors of Posts to the Free Republic website are accused of being "Trolls". These people, whom call themselves the Troll Patrol, are trying to intimidate Americans who are wanting to express their thoughts and concerns to keep their thoughts to themsleves. This is an attempt to enforce censorship or pressure someone not to express themselves.

I would like to say to the Troll Patrol that this in not the old USSR or Nazi Germany in the 40's. This is the United States of America and we do have freedom of speech in this country.

If you want to find trolls, I suggest that you visit Sherwood Forrest there are probaly a few lurking around.

God Bless the United States and Protect Us From the Troll Patrol.

Okay, you don't like the Admin Mods jumping medieval on the Trolls?

That's understandable. You believe in free speech, I guess. How and ever, recognize that this forum is privately owned bandwidth. Jim Robinson has the perfect right to keep the DU crowd off this board.

This board is for conservatives to share opinions on the events of the day. It is not the ACLU forum on AOL or Tacitus. This board is not for our friends from DU to raid and post liberal opinions or articles pimping Michael Moore's new book or proofs that the Bush Crime Family brought Adolf Hitler to power, and then invested money in IG Farben's new chemical compoud, Zyklon B.

Besides, they do not let us on their board, nor should anyone here desire to violate their private property rights.

That's another thing we believe in here, by the way. If you're as conservative as you say, you should realize that private property rights are just as important as freedom of speech, freedom of religion and to assemble, and the right to keep and bear arms. Assertions of fairness are always trumped by the right of private property, at least in societies where property rights are valued. Only when legal doctrines of equal protection under the law are violated are property rights subsumed (e.g.: "I don't want to serve Negroes in my diner because they are black", etc.).

My mom grew up in Chanhassen MN., and she remembered as a child being afraid of going over this one wooden bridge because she was certain that trolls lived underneath it ! LOL !!
