The implications are these: Yes it's true that Klintoon got a pass, both before and after he was elected. However, I don't think the mushy middle, (those who decide the elections) are willing to go through that again. If true, this will toast him. Either way, landslide in '04.

Bush has to get a convincing economic story. I think he will, but until then it makes no difference who Kerry had sex with this side of ten years old.

Hope you're right. Certainly the fact that his categorical denial will be shown to have been a lie should hurt him.
And of course a lot will depend on Teresa's reaction.

Exactly. I do not see why so many here think the way the electorate reacts to a sitting president being caught in a problem when the US is at peace, there is not Soviet threat and the economy is going fine would be the same reaction to a challenger to a sitting president, when the US is at war and and our security has been shown to be vulnerable.
Not caring that Clinton lied to a federal court during a time of calm is a bit different than not caring about a preoccupied president during these times. Particularly when you have a safe secure choice in Bush.
