Schools making sissies out of our kids
World Net Daily ^ | 2/13/04 | Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Posted on 02/13/2004 8:25:58 AM PST by Mikey

When I was a little girl about 5 or 6 years old, my mother instructed me in the proper response to anyone hitting me. She said, "Never, never hit anyone first; but, if they hit you first, hit them back immediately and twice as hard!" Today, at 57, I have had a stint on talk radio preachin', teachin', and naggin' for a span of about 30 years – and that is precisely the advice I have been giving children and suggesting to their parents that they do the same. I have even recommended martial arts for the timid as well as the edgy children because of the development of self-assurance and serious self-discipline.

Along comes the public-school system and undermines all of that. John Longenecker of Lakewood, Calif., sent me this letter: "You wanted reports on school malfeasances; here's one. Picked up my kids in Lakewood this afternoon, and my beautiful, loving children reported to me a new Bellflower School District policy that specified, among other things, that both children caught fighting will be disciplined and that the discipline could be a citation that could run as high as $800.

This is all set up to get the American people ready for when the UNITED NATIONS finally decides to disarm these united States (notice how the UNITED NATIONS is disarming everyone else.) and establish a One World Government.

Get the children of this (and others countries) used to not fighting back and they will be easily conquered without any resistance.

“To disarm the people, that is the best and most effective way to enslave them."

The the best way to disarm any people is to first remove their will to fight, then all else will just fall into place. And this would do it. Get the children to actually believe that fighting back is wrong and if one does, one will be punished. Thus destroying the will to fight back.

"When an opponent declares, 'I will not come over to your side.' I calmly say, 'Your child belongs to us already…
What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp.
In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.'"

Yep, it's the only thing they'll understand.Remember that little country called Libya? We bombed the hell outta them & never heard another word from them.

Now, when someone hits you, you're supposed to understand the root causes of their actions.

I DON'T THINK SO

I believe my first experience with someone hitting me ended with my dad telling me "If you come home tommorrow and you didn't kick this kid's butt, i'll be whipping yours when you get to the house." but unfortunately the P.C. Panzies are doing just what Dr. Laura say's. But there are those of us who still teach our children how to deal with bullies, you give them a black eye and bloody nose!

This is a new twist to a long-standing USD policy to punish both bully and victim, thereby punishing the victim twice.

When I was in school (in the 70s and 80s), if a victim fought back, it was only the victim who got punished.

I've got my 5 year old in Karate and she knows how to take care of herself. I've told her to first tell the teacher. If the teacher does nothing (which has happened only once before), I've told my kid that I will back her in whatever force she deems necessary to settle the matter. Kick that bully's butt! I pity the molester that targets her too -- he'll probably end up with a broken hand and aching groin. When she's older, she'll accomany the wife and I to target training. Every 10 year old should be able to handle a 9 mm.

This sort of "zero-tolerance" garbage was just one of the many reasons I took my son out of the public schools.

In middle school, my son was robbed of $5.00 and beaten by a creep and his gang. There were several witnesses who claimed my son did not instigate the violence, but fought back after being thrown to the ground and put in a headlock by a much older and larger thug.

Guess what? The thug was suspended for one week. However, my son was suspended for two days for hitting the creep who had him in a headlock because of the zero tolerance policy!!!

There's more to our story, (we caught the principle in a bald face lie) but the end result was that my husband and I refused to let our son back into that school. We homeschool now.

Kids in public schools are not allowed to fight back. They must sit or lie there like good little robots and get the snot kicked out of them by creeps who would love to be suspended from school for a week.

LOL my mom told me the same thing. I was a kid (female)on the Southside of Chicago you either fight or get you butt kicked everyday. I fought girls and boys, but it was only fists back then.

Too bad I can't tell my girls the same thing my mom told me. I'd go to jail now days! LOL

I put my daughters in Martial Arts so they can get away if not kick butt the fast way.

I've got a friend who tells her son to tell the teacher if a kid starts picking on him or if a kid hits him. You should have seen the look on her face when I told her that my son is instructed to hit back, and hit back hard if he is attacked. :-}

Vouchers are necessary to break the back of the NEA and school board policies devoid of common sense and common decency.

Don't discard that philosophy to fast, i'd gladly go to jail to keep my child from getting hurt. I am of the opinon that if someone attacks my child, they deserve to get their butts stomped and like a good friend of mine told me "If you have to fight when you start hitting them, be generous and give them a few extra for free."

Simple pavlovian logic should help with this problem.

If a bully can get his thrills beating others and get nothing but a vacation in return, he will continue beating others.

If a school administrator can punish the innocent and still hold his job, he will continue to punish the innocent.

What would be a disincentive to these parties? That's easy: hit them where it hurts.

A bully, being what he is only responds to physical force. The picked on child must severely injure the bully each and every time he instigates a fight. The more severe the injury, the quicker the lesson will be learned. Injuries that require hospitalization of the bully are not too extreme. Krav Maga and similar martial arts should be sufficent for even the smallest child to adequately defend himself.

A school administrator will only respond to a threat to his wallet. Pulling the child from public school will deprive the school district of funding, and therefore endanger the administrators position.

These responses by bullied children and their parents must be consistent and predictible. Only then will bullies and administrators be instilled with sufficient fear of their victims.

I'd gladly choose jail over allowing my child to suffer physical abuse. The added benefit would be the example set to the child about standing up for oneself against anyone or anything.

Sometimes it's better to catch idiots like that away from the school where you can really let him know how you feel without ending up in jail. I mean if he's responsible for our childs welfare, how come he got put in a headlock & beat up and yet still got suspended. In my opinion you might want to tell & show him just what it's like to be a victim of some thug and then be penalized for nothing. Our schools have become a P.C. madhouse, i've only got two more years till my youngest graduates and I got to tell you i'm very glad.

My son was a mild-mannered lad who was always getting knocked around on the middle school playground. To build his self confidence, I enrolled him in Karate. After about eight months he was ready, mentally and physically. One day his chief tormentor started taunting and punching him around. He put up with it for a minute or two, then he hit the older kid on the jaw--broke it in three places. Kid spent two weeks in hospital and 6 weeks with his jaws wired shut. My son never had more trouble from bullies during his high school career--he never had to hit anyone else. BTW, the principal counseled my son to be careful--that he could really hurt someone hitting them like that. But not a word of reprimand. The other kid's parents? Not a peep.

We sued the school system and won. We declined the payment (save that of our lawyer fees) and opted to have the diciplinary action wiped off our son's record.

I would never, ever put my child in a public school again. Yes, without "troublemakers" like us, the school bureaucrats have an easier job of controlling the minds of those who remain. Fortunately, many more like us are refusing to be part of the liberal brainwashing agenda of the NEA. I know a lot of FReepers who defend public schools and say they want to be part of a change. Good luck with trying to fight the socialists and lib educators who are in the majority in that field.

This incident turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Homeschooling has been a wonderful and fufilling experience for my son and family.

"Vouchers are necessary to break the back of the NEA and school board policies devoid of common sense and common decency."

Yeah but, who issues those "vouchers"?

Just get rid of the NEA and put control over all schools back into the hands of the local community.

Remember when one recieves FEDERAL money, one gets ALL the strings attached. See The communist manifesto, plank # 10.

Tenth Plank:
"Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production."

(Gradual shift from private education to publicly funded began in the Northern States, early 1800’s. 1887: federal money (unconstitutionally) began funding specialized education. Smith Lever Act of 1914, vocational education; Smith Hughes Act of 1917 and other relief acts of the 1930’s. Federal school lunch program of 1935; National School Lunch Act of 1946. National Defense Education Act of 1958, a reaction to Russia's Sputnik satellite demonstration, provided grants to education's specialties. Federal school aid law passed, 1965, greatly enlarged federal role in education, "head start" programs, textbooks, library books.)

(Research source: Encyclopedia Britannica.)

"Necessity is the plea of every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants, it is the creed of slaves."
William Pitt
