It's the dumbest way to win votes for a candidate I've ever seen. You can't "win" votes that were not there in the first place. Look at the FR poll. There is 20% hardcore anti Bush/GOP posters on FR. They are NOT going to be won over. That is ok by me because it gives some spice to the place but Bush could kiss their butt in the astrodome and give them 30 minutes to draw a crowd and they still wouldnt vote for him.

And what do you consider the constant Bush-bashing that goes on around here "in the holy name of conservatism"? Let's take this thread as an example.
Off the top of my head, it has been 0% 'Bush-bashing'. Can you find the posts and the posters who have bashed the President on this thread, FO?
The vanity itself was pro-Bush, even if presented awkwardly and with more than a dash of over-the-top silliness, and with a number of slams against conservatives thrown in with no purpose but to stir up trouble.
The rest of the thread has mainly been about the silliness of defending the indefensible out-of-control spending being inflicted on our posterity right now, and also a discussion, heated at times, about the damage inflicted on our movement and our Party and our President by certain attitudes.
0% Bushbashing
At least 50% Conservative-bashing
That's how I rate it from memory.

"So you resort to lies?"
==
Aren't you going a little far here, calling me a liar?
Please point out a single post, where I lied.
I can see that your mission is to try to drive away posters who are effective in supporting Bush, so you can try to turn FR into a Bush-bashing forum, which would outdo DU.
Why aren't you able to respond to my points and posts -- your resorting to personal attacks and continuing them, only shows that you know you lost the argument, actually you never had any. Must have run out of your Democrat talking points.

Outstanding article. These were the parts that really stood out to me:

"...as if you so-called conservatives were personally wounded and the bleeding will never stop....This is too pathetic. Do you let others do your thinking now?
"You are jumping to so many bogus conclusions...the crocodile tears are starting to make Conservatives look more and more like the libs with their hands constantly extended....your misplaced anger...Do you want to be Canada? Then go the hell there and stop calling yourselves conservatives, because you ain't.
"If you were truly conservatives..."

Oh, how wrong you are, swami. If FR is a microcosm of the GOP and the conservative electorate, which in my experience it is above all other known microcosms, our party has a huge problem.
Because if 20% of the conservative electorate stays home or goes elsewhere, you can say hello to President Kerry.
My belief is that the attitudes of the conservative-bashers here are driving away voters George W. Bush has to have to win, and that we need to have in the fold in order to increase our numbers in the House and the Senate.
Guess y'all never heard that old saying about vinegar, sugar and bees.
It seems that the antipathy of some towards conservatives is more weighty than their concern about beating the RATs in November.

Were you aware that during the 2nd world war, our deficit was 100% of our GDP. I'm not sure what it is today, but I do know it's not even a hair's breath near that.
Take your TAX PLAN and take a hike! Raising taxes is exactly THE TOTAL OPPOSITE of what should be done. Even JFK knew that when he called for tax cuts. We need to make the tax cuts permanent.
