SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

This is right out of the communist manifesto of 1963.

We have no control over our lives and the family is gone.

I am surprised that they haven't called for more babies, after all they need them for raping by NAMBLA which is a fine communist group, just ask ACLU/communist groups.

Today, if there isn't a child, man or animal, then there is no sex life.

This world is very ill and may not recover.

Thanks :-)

We are not out of the woods until they are all dead or captured....we've done a darn good job so far. My tagline buddy says...

"MUNICH (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Saturday defended his country's first-strike military pre-emption policy by saying weapons of mass destruction were not snowballs.

"If someone is going to throw a snowball at you, you may not want to act pre-emptively. You can afford to take the blow and do something after the fact," he told a annual security conference in Munich.

"As you go up the scale from snowballs to the weapon of mass destruction, at some point...there's not going to be a snowball in your face but a biological weapon that can kill tens of thousands of human beings...The greater the danger, the lower the threshold for action."

I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do, what type of discourse to engage in etc. But I think this post should be read as it is a breath of fresh air:

Now, on with the brainstorming

Tenet is in my opinion not the right man for the job. He doesn't create the intelligence, the collections and analysts make the intelligence. It's what he passes on to the President, both good intel and BAD intel that I have a problem with, so, yes, I can have it both ways.

For instance, is there any reason whatsoever for the President NOT to be informed that in November a packages of ricin poison had been sent to the White House?

Yet, they maintain the President did not know, that he was NOT informed. It is the job of the Director of Central Intelligence (wearing that hat he is prov to intel for ALL SOURCES) to know, and it is the job of the DIRCIA to inform the President (and the Secret Service) specifically of all threats. We have been told matter of factly that this is not the case.

Similarly, regarding the ICBM technological developments of the DPRK, IF a Taep'o Dong 3 (Hwasong 6) did in fact exist and posed a threat to the entire continental United States (as claimed by NothingMan) don't you think that DCI/DIRCIA Tenet might have made mention of it, even in passing? Fact is, the Congressional record shows he did not.

That is the point I was trying to convey. There are statements backed by verifiable facts and corroborated data and there is unadulterated horse hooey. This data includes reasonable and educated technological assessments bussed upon the opinion of subject matter experts.

I hope this clears up any ambiguities that may have been created.

I think Tenet should have resigned long ago, and he will be history by the end of the year.

I heard on FoxNews today or yesterday, that Tenet wanted to resign in December, but Bush didn't want him to do that in the middle of all the questions, etc., and Tenet said he will stay until the end of this year.

I think Bush is not coming out and accusing Tenet publicly, because from the very beginning, after 9-11, Bush wanted to focus on the future.

All that said, he still should have gotten rid of Tenet. Those Clinton holdovers are nothing but trouble.

I think next year we will see a different CIA director and Secratary of State. ( And I hope they won't be appointed by Kerry)

There are 'Communist' parties in many countries, but only few governments today are controlled by 'Communists'. Many Communist ideas are alive and well right here in our own country.

Right you are milkncookies. Here is the website for Communist Party USA: link

Here is an interesting and I think insightful about the "intel failures".

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1073624/posts

Fixing what's broken (Intelligence, Iraq, WMD)(good editorial)

"Finally, there was no concrete evidence pointing to the opposite possibility, that Iraq possessed no chemical and biological capabilities, no missiles, and that Saddam had stopped trying to acquire them. Everything Saddam did gave the impression that he had something to hide, ...

Let's not forget our history. We underestimated the Soviet nuclear program in 1949, China's in 1964, India's in 1974, and Iraq's in 1991. The list goes on: North Korea in 1994, Iraq again in 1995, India in 1998, Pakistan in 1998, North Korea in 2002, and Iran and Libya last year. The point is that without solid evidence to the contrary, it was virtually impossible for the intelligence services to come to conclusions any different from the ones that they did."

It also says Tenet did well after 9-11, well, I hope he did manage to do some things well, but I am personally not impressed.

That was an excellent post you made. I hope we can get some of them who have infiltrated our country via illegal entry or immigration fraud/overstayed visas. It would be terrific if there was more publication of the list of individuals Cindy had on her earlier post - like America's Most Wanted. Our troops are foremost in harms way and IMHO is of most concern. I hope we have continued success rounding up the enemy (globally) and reducing the chances for them to act upon their threats before retaliation would become an option for consideration.

>>"Which one do you put a bead on first???"

>The United States is already under attack - from MEXICO.

Yep! I was gonna say the same thing.

The real threat is from within and not from a friend, partner and soon to be full-fledged ally like Russia.

Beware the detractors intent on dividing and conquering us.

"I think Tenet should have resigned long ago, and he will be history by the end of the year."

I agree 100%. I also just saw that article stating President Bush says George Tenet's job is secure. (Dubya, just say it ain't so!!!)

Anyone else in just about any important kind of work with as many and consistent failures as George Tenet has under his belt would have been pink-slipped long ago.

Another 11 months of George Tenet is bad for America imho, but we have pretty much survived 8 years of the Bill'n'Hill Traveling Commie Circus Sideshow so we may well survive another 11 months of Tenetitis. At least that is my most fervent hope.

Piper,

I did a Google search for: (on the search line as below)

will north Korea attack America

There are many more than I can 'see' today, and at the bottom of the page there is a line with subjects to click on, choose Groups and the 2nd message is a link to an old article about Iran training Terrorists.

A site that will cause you to think, is:

Jewish Task Force

http://jtf.org

Looks like good current news on the war here:

Federation of American Scientists

http://www.fas.org/index.html

Or there is a clinton era secret report, "Emerging Missile Threats to North America During the Next 15 Years" Nov. 95

"I cannot say the missiles are operational as the last flight test was August 31, 1998. It had a third stage that the North Koreans claimed was a satellite (SLV in the report means "space launched vehicle").
Some people say this third stage (a dummy warhead) fell into the water off Hawaii. There is another story that it landed somewhere in Alaska.

Seems Alaska could have an international exhibition of the NK missile flotsom and jetsom that has been dropping on it's turf over the recent years:
