Old man Alvarez and his son are the first to propose that extinctions on earth are related to meteorite impacts.
BTW, when I decide to take another vacation, it will be to Teotihuacan. That's a very unusual place.

You'll love it. I climbed the pyramid of the moon, a memorable experience.

"I climbed the pyramid of the moon, a memorable experience." LOL. I had to take a break half way up on the large pyramid at Chichen Itza. I've done the Yucatan 'scene' a number of times.

If these guys would just watch "Stargate SG-1" they'd save themselves a lot of time.

My wife and I went to Chichen Itza on my honeymoon. My wife climbed the pyramid in athletic high heels and scared the bejesus out of me. The strangest thing is that I remember the mens bathroom being impeccably clean.

uknow, I quite often have a dream where I am standing on top of this pyramid in flowing sun god robes, and surrounding me below are thousands of naked women throwing little pickles at me.

Well... doesn't everyone grilled cheese sandwiches with dill pickles on the side? Perfectly logical. :)

The Ultimate Unified Theory of Everything includes: Photons, Croutons, Neurons, Futons, Carrions, Gravitons, Crayons, and Morons.
Muons didn't make the cut.

well, I really dont have anything useful to add to a discussion of meso-american pyramids (or for that matter original, since the line came from 'real genius' :-)....
I just clicked into this thread after reading the title too fast .... I thought we would be discussing lake titticaca

Climbing the sun pyramid in the thin air and mexican heat is a serious endeavor. But when you reach the top where the temple once stood, it is crowded with local entrpreneurs who have lugged up coolers full of softdrinks and water. Don't make my mistake and leave your wallet with the wife down at the bottom!

"I quite often have a dream where I am standing on top of this pyramid in flowing sun god robes, and surrounding me below are thousands of naked women throwing little pickles at me." I was on the top of a pyramid at Coba once at sunrise. I was looking out across the grounds and imagined myself king. I rasied both my arms high and 'heard the crowd below roar their approval,' when, from behid one of the large blocks a frenchman stepped out and said, "you Americans are always into power."Sure deflated my daydream. (Coba has yet to be excavated.)

The key question that archaeologists hope to help resolve is, What type of government did Teotihuacan have? Since they are all long dead, I would guess that they were socialists, heavily into gay marriage.
