But I thought gun control solves this type of thing.

Impossible. D.C. has strong gun control laws, and schools, in particular, are zero tolerance gun-free zones. You must be mistaken.

Apparently not. Maybe... maybe... maybe it's the fault of the shooter...?

So, does this school get placed on NCLB's "persistently dangerous" schools or doesn't it yet meet the criteria?
NCLB is a joke.

Good thing those kids did not have vouchers so they could get out of those lovely schools. It is this type of socialization that makes the public schools an invaluable experinece for children.

That's what I thought too. Must be a misprint.

There's no info on whether the school is on lockdown or if the students have been evacuated.

So how long before we hear about the "assault weapon" or "pocket rocket" or other evil firearm that committed this crime all by itself, I wonder?

I hope that candidates for vouchers will be thoroughly checked out as far as discipline and educational potential are concerned before they are foisted on private schools.
My Washington relatives send all their children to private schools in and around the district. The last thing they want to see is a bunch of thugs in their children's schools.

The DC politicians and bureaucrats "just didn't go far enough" with their laws. Oh wait a minute. DC has a total gun ban with only those guns owned by residents prior to the 1976 ban being legal. I guess they should have the DC cops round those up from the law abiding citizens. That would help.

Our Democrat mayor, Anthony Williams, supports school vouchers and has taken alot of heat from the usual suspects for it.

We don't have cable and rarely have the TV on, but there's nothing being said at all on the radio news. Don't school shootings qualify as breaking news anymore?

Our nation's capital is in the throes of a violent crime wave with almost one murder a day, gang warfare in broad daylight, bus drivers being stabbed and children being robbed at gunpoint for their Northface down winter coats. Recently, a 14-year-old girl was assassinated for being a possible witness to a drug-war hit between rival gangs. Just to point out the obvious: this is third-world stuff. It's what comes of casting off the shackles of civilization in the name of "diversity."

DC has a total gun banMaybe they should pass a total gun ban again, and see if it works this time.

Obviously the answer is to control the guns and understand the little terrorists darlings, who are obviously only acting out something they can't understand. Oh yeah, and it's probably due to poverty and bad achools for lack of government funding and I'm sure there was racism involved. Did I miss any?
