January 31, 2004 -- LOS ANGELES - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger yesterday shot down a plea for mercy from a condemned predator who killed four people more than 20 years ago. The governor rejected calls from fellow Hollywood heavyweights to spare Kevin Cooper - who is now set for lethal injection on Feb. 10.

You've got to wonder how anyone can publicly support a man who hacked several people to death.

Including hacking to death two children and severely injuring one child. I wonder if Cooper had been white, would these actors have been as sympathetic.

Actually, I wonder if the victims had been black would these actors have been so sympathetic towards the murderer.

I also wonder how dealing with the real world and his fellow actors will impact Arnold.

Yesterday the ultra liberal SF Chronicle had a lengthy editorial calling for Arnold to delay the execution until more evidence is checked. On the next page the Chronicle's token conservative columnist, Debra Saunders, had a column indicating point by point why this killer was guilty and should be executed. I do not know how this slipped by the liberal lefties at the Chronicle.

Odd as it may seem, if Arnold did commute the sentence to life, the perp would be immediately elegible for parole.

The Post is slipping. Normally they'd include many more sly references to Ahnuld's movie career.
