Can't they interfere with the airport radar? I once was involved in the planning of a major memorial service, and a balloon release was planned for the children. This event had to be cleared with the airport which was less than 10 miles away.

These balloons weren't cleared with anyone for any reason. They were plenty hot about it. :)Still lookin for who dun it. :)
