Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. —Matthew 5:3

Happy are they who love the Lord,
Whose hearts have Christ confessed,
Who by His cross have found their life,
Beneath His yoke their rest. Bridges

Happiness depends on what you are, not on what you have.

Press Release.
TROOP SUPPORT MAIL POLICY STRESSED
To bolster force protection, the general public is urged not to send unsolicited mail, care packages or donations to service members forward deployed unless you are a family member, loved one or personal friend.

Please DO NOT post any military snail mail addresses on
public internet message boards, forums etc.
This puts Military personnel at risk
and often causes them problems
receiving packages from their family and friends.

I wrote this on Veteran's Day 2003. Hope you don't mind if I post it here. CG

Veterans Day

Our country called, they answered,
They risked their lives, their all.
They fought on land, sea, and air,
They saw their buddies fall.
Yet on they fought and they prevailed,
We owe our gratitude.
So give thumbs up, to them, the Vets,
God grant them solitude.
We can’t repay all that they gave,
So show them that you care.
They fought for us, to all be free,
Be thankful they were there.

Good morning, everyone. It's a beautiful day in North Texas today. I had to take someone to the airport this morning and got to see a very beautiful sunrise on my way back. Hope you all have a great Monday.

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to everyone. I haven't been on lately since we're down here in Pensacola with our #1 son and family for the holidays. Little Ashley is doing great and is one of the happiest babies I've ever seen always has a big smile for everyone. Guess she's just happy to be feeling good after all she went through. I went off and left my list of fallen comrades at home so I won't be posting the list today. But as a real rememberance tomorrow we are making a pilgrimage to Fort Rucker, Alabama and the Army Aviation Museum and show our youngest where he was born in Enterprise. So I'll remember them all tomorrow, may be a rough day for an old soldier, but a bittersweet one. Will take some pics and try to post some when I can. Once again have a good New Year everyone.

SCOUTS OUT!

Good morning, Mr. Mayor...I concur: a Fine debut...thank you for opening the doors today.

Good morning and afternoon to all Freepers.

I wake up every day thinking about our troops on the many fields of battle and I feel love, pride, concern.

Then, I turn on the news and see the Demokratzkies whining, bitching, moaning, slandering our Commander-In-Chief....enabling our terrorist enemies, giving them hope.

I curse the Dems, and pray for my Dubya.

Each day is a mix of love and hope, fear and anger.

I have no doubt...love and hope wins cuz the Almighty blesses the USA.
