65 people?
Huge crowd?
Hahahahaha!
To: GeneralHavoc
Just so you know, there are around 2 million Republicans in PA...
To: republicanwizard
Well, I would think 65 is a good crowd for a political gathering. Today, people are so uninformed that finding 65 people in Pittsburgh for Toomey is remarkable! UI understand when he started running for President that the popular Howard Dean was hardly drawing a dozen people per appearance.
To: republicanwizard
there are around 2 million Republicans in PAJust a few of those are in Pgh and PHL, so 65 at a restaurant meeting in the Democrat stronghold of Pittsburgh is a pretty good turnout.

Quality matters. How much money did he raise?

He's an opportunist. I'd support a RINO over an opportunist.
To: mountaineer
Seriously. There are several hundred thousand Republicans in Pittsburgh.
To: republicanwizard
2 Million in a state of 8 Million people....
Toomey may be a fan favorite here at FR, but he's facing being eaten alive in the primaries by Specter... I know I'll get flamed for stating the truth here, but facts are facts.
To: republicanwizard
Seriously. You don't know much about grassroots politics if you think 65 isn't a decent turnout for a conservative candidate in Pittsburgh, especially given the recent snowstorm there.

He's an opportunist. I'd support a RINO over an opportunist. Would you expand on that a bit please? In a way, aren't all politicians opportunists?

1. Toomey hangs around some really slimy people who make Specter seem a dedicated Republican.
2. Toomey misled the NRCC, and thereby candidates like Gekas and Brown narrowly lost.
3. Specter has usually been loyal to Bush, and I think we should reward him for that.
To: republicanwizard
Which "slimy people."
How did he mislead the NRCC?
If you're going to throw around accusations, you should be more specific.
