Three images tell the story of George W. Bushs presidency. The first, of Bush and bullhorn atop the rubble at New Yorks Ground Zero on Sept. 14, 2001, came to symbolize his transformation into a powerful wartime president. The second, of Bush in flight suit with Mission Accomplished banner aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1, 2003, became the symbol of Bushs unrealized optimism about the U.S. militarys victory in Iraq. Yesterday, Nov. 27, 2003, brought an equally vivid but more complex image of Bush.
"... while the troops cheered the moment, it is too soon to know whether the image of Bush in his Army jacket yesterday will become a symbol of strong leadership or a symbol of unwarranted bravado."

Isn't it a shame NOT that W ruined the holiday for so many liberal writers. Instead of spending Thanksgiving at home with their family, they had to spend the night writing their negative opinions. Boo hoo

That was Pat Priest. I remember because I was moved to comfort her in her despondence over being so 'abnormal.'

"A sharp chef noticed that she was colder than the chilled turkey and stopped just in time."
You are correct, but the chef did so with remorse. Noting the creatures ample thighs, he couldn't help but think how far those drummies would go on the mess trays of deserving troops.

I just heard Mike Gallagher cite two smarmy Demo comments, one from a Dean spokesman and the other from Kerry. Any more?

Compost indeed. I got teary eyed over the visit. Any Iraqi complaining about the visit being hush-hush better than their lucky stars he did take extra precaution and there wasn't an incident or there wouldn't be an Iraq today. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall when Shrillary was told about being trumped.

Oh my. The criticisms are coming fast and furious. This demonstration of partisan stupidity further demonstrates how disconnected these folks are from us out here in fly over territory. The sad thing is that they don't even know it!

Here is another very questionable passage: "While the troops cheered the moment, it is too soon to know whether the image of Bush in his Army jacket yesterday will become a symbol of strong leadership or a symbol of unwarranted bravado."
How can they come up with crap like this?
These are the same people who have rewritten history by insisting that the aircraft carrier landing created a negative image for the president.

Most people in America know that Bush was sincere and daring by visiting the troops fighting for our country's security.
They also know that Hillary was in Afghanistan for purely political purposes. She went to give anything she says about the war on terrorism some credibility.
What I think speaks very loudy, though no one in the media has pointed it out, is why would Hillary go to Afghanistan when visiting Iraq would have made a much bigger splash?

LOL!!! We could only hope... I did notice, however, her mug on the TV was sooo lined and disgust written all over her face... imagen, she wasted HER time, with 50 troops, out of a HOT zone, and the President slammed dunked her.
BRILLIANT. She makes me ill, and is a laughing stock. Who was the "patsy" senator traveling with her? Too funny, I haven't even noticed on any media channel!
