This is not new news-but was in my email so I wanted to share it...the letter to McCabe is long, but worthy. And the authors haven given permission to use it as one chooses. All of it, parts of it, whatever.

Here is the full email:

" We all need to write letters to him.. Margaret says use this one, revise it if you want to. Even a short note is better than none!

[ name omitted by republic ] and I plan on sending several different letters to him, perhaps emphasizing different points, all urging the need for a criminal investigation as soon as possible.

Subject: TERRI - Letter to State Attorney Bernie McCabe

We need to encourage State Attorney Bernie McCabe to investigate criminal actions by Michael Schiavo. We sent him this letter. If you would like to use it or revise it, you are welcome to. He supposedly reads his snail mail. If thousands of people write to him, he may feel compelled to act. Joe and Margaret < last name omitted by republic >

State Attorney Bernie McCabe
14250 49th St. N
Clearwater, FL 33762-2800

Dear State Attorney Bernie McCabe:

We request you initiate a criminal investigation into Michael Schiavo’s many attempts to murder Terri Schindler-Schiavo, which apparently began in 1990 and continues to this day.

This is a summary of what we are hearing. Before Terri’s “collapse,” the relationship between Terri and Michael was bad. Jackie Rhoades testified at the 1996 guardianship hearing that she knew Terri was being abused, that she frequently saw her with bruises on her arms and legs, and that Terri was afraid of Michael. Jackie further stated that Terri intended to divorce Michael.

Terri and Michael had been fighting excessively the day of her “collapse” about the price she had paid for having her hair done, and a friend who feared for Terri’s safety had tried to persuade Terri not to spend that night alone with Michael.

The night of her “collapse,” her brother found Terri in her apartment, lying on the floor unconscious, with her hands around her head/neck area. The only other person in the apartment was Michael. He never claimed someone else had been in the apartment that night.

We are hearing that Terri’s ER report reveals bruising around her neck, a stiff neck, consistent with strangulation, and no cardiac enzymes in her blood, which means she did not have a heart attack.

The CT scan shows multiple fractures, including fractures to the occipital region. Terri suffered horrible injuries after talking with her brother the day of her “collapse.”

The logical conclusion is that Michael beat the daylights out of her and strangled her. Since she was not Michael’s slave, and not his Taliban wife, it is beyond comprehension why the police did not immediately place Michael under arrest for attempted murder.

Michael has continually tried to kill Terri by refusing antibiotics for Terri for potentially fatal infections. Court papers reveal he knew she would likely die. The affidavit of the nurse supervisor, Carla Sauer Iyer, RN, also reaffirms his refusal of antibiotics for Terri.

Carla Sauer Iyer, RN, also reveals Michael’s eagerness for Terri to die. “Throughout my time at Palm Gardens, Michael Schiavo was focused on Terri's death. Michael would say ‘When is she going to die?’ ‘Has she died yet?’ and ‘When is that bitch gonna die?’ “These statements were common knowledge at Palm Gardens, as he would make them casually in passing, without regard even for who he was talking to, as long as it was a staff member. Other statements which I recall him making include ‘Can't anything be done to accelerate her death - won't she ever die?’ When she wouldn't die, Michael would be furious.”

Carla Sauer Iyer, RN, reveals Michael’s motivation for wanting Terri to die. Carla heard Michael complain all the time that keeping Terri alive was costing him a lot of money and that Terri would be worth more to him if she were dead. “Any time Terri would be sick, like with a UTI or fluid buildup in her lungs, colds, or pneumonia, Michael would be visibly excited, thrilled even, hoping that she would die. He would say something like, ‘Hallelujah! You've made my day!’ He would call me, as I was the nurse supervisor on the floor, and ask for every little detail about her temperature, blood pressure, etc., and would call back frequently asking if she was dead yet. He would blurt out ‘I'm going to be rich!’ and would talk about all the things he would buy when Terri died, which included a new car, a new boat, and going to Europe, among other things.”

Carla Sauer Iyer, RN, reveals more possible attempts Michael made to kill Terri. “When Michael visited Terri, he always came alone and always had the door closed and locked while he was with Terri. He would typically be there about twenty minutes or so. When he left Terri would be trembling, crying hysterically, and would be very pale and have cold sweats. It looked to me like Terri was having a hypoglycemic reaction, so I'd check her blood sugar. The glucometer reading would be so low it was below the range where it would register an actual number reading. I would put dextrose in Terri's mouth to counteract it. This happened about five times on my shift, as I recall. Normally Terri's blood sugar levels were very stable due to the uniformity of her diet through tube feeding. It is medically possible that Michael injected Terri with Regular insulin, which is very fast acting, but I don't have any way of knowing for sure.” Carla Sauer Iyer, R.N., concluded by saying, “I ultimately called the police relative to this situation, and was terminated the next day.”

When Terri did not die after all his attempts to kill her, Michael found a way “to accelerate her death.” But not until after a million dollars for Terri’s care and rehabilitation were placed in the bank under Michael’s control. Not one penny of this money was spent for her rehabilitation.

Michael hired George Felos, a “right-to-die” attorney, to pursue a court order to have Terri killed. It was then Michael “remembered” Terri had said she would not want to be kept alive artificially.

Terri was secluded in the hospice where George Felos was chairman of the board. Why would someone who was healthy, though disabled, and who desperately needed rehabilitation, be put into a hospice, a death row for terminally ill patients?

According to Florida Law, Terri must be in a persistent vegetative state in order for a judge to legally rule that she be killed. Obviously, she was not. But, hiding her in a hospice with virtually no visitors, and under the complete control of George Felos who was chairman of the board, and Michael, this falsehood could be perpetrated. Their two doctors testified for Felos that she was in a pvs. The “neutral” doctor selected by Judge Greer was not neutral. His brother was a friend of Felos.

Would Terri have said she would want to die? “Diane Meyer can recall only one time her best friend Terri Schiavo really got angry with her. It was 1981, and it haunts her still. The recent high-school graduates had just seen a television movie about Karen Ann Quinlan, who had been in a coma since collapsing six years earlier and was the subject of a bitter court battle over her parents' decision to take her off a respirator. Meyer told a cruel joke about Quinlan, and it set Terri off.

"She went down my throat about this joke, that it was inappropriate," Meyer says. She remembers Terri wondering how the doctors and lawyers could possibly know what Quinlan was really feeling or what she would want. "Where there's life," Meyer recalls her saying, "there's hope." Understand, Terri said this about a woman in a coma, and on a respirator.

April 26, 2001 Cyndi Brasher Shook came forward with the testimony that while she and Schiavo were dating in 1992, he twice told her that Terri Schiavo and he never talked about what should be done if she ever ended up on life support with no hope of recovery, court records state. And Trudy Capone stated ``Michael confided in me all the time about Terri,'' and goes on to say, ``Michael never knew what Terri wanted.''

Terri was raised in the Catholic church, which strongly supports the right to life, and denounces killing. Which Terri echoed to Diane Meyer.

Terri recently strongly indicated she does not want to die. Before her feeding tube was removed October 15, when told she would be killed if she did not get out of her chair, she tried to climb out of her chair.

Terri should be protected under Title XLIV CIVIL RIGHTS Chapter 765 HEALTH CARE ADVANCE DIRECTIVES 765.104 which allows people to revoke an advance directive.

Is Terri in a PVS? Fifteen doctors have said she is definitely not in a pvs. Her videos show the world that she is not in a pvs. We see her responding to her mother, following a balloon, obeying verbal orders to open her eyes, even being complimented by the doctor when she opened her eyes very widely. We read in affidavits of Terri’s caregivers that she is responsive, talks, cries, laughs, even laughs at jokes, and eats Jell-O. Only Felos’s two doctors and the brother of Felos’s friend state she is in a pvs.

Even now, Michael is asking the judge to remove Terri’s feeding tube again. This would be the third time.

This appears to be a conspiracy to commit murder. Michael is obviously trying to have his wife killed. Felos is an accomplice. When the doctors see Terri responding in a purposeful manner, and claim that is only reflex behavior, that is a lie. When a judge hears and sees compelling evidence that Terri is not in a pvs, but still orders her death, that is illegal.

The world sees this as a case of a husband attempting to murder his wife, with the American judicial system enabling him to have her killed. This is America where people, even wives, are entitled to protection under the law. In America, people, even wives, are entitled to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The executive branch of the government is required to enforce the law, not let it be trampled by people, not even by a judge.

Michael and the court have flagrantly violated many laws. Attempted murder is only one.

We trust you will use the full force of your position to investigate this case.

Sincerely,

In the letter above...I did not know that Bobby saw Terri before she was removed to the hospital at the time of her attack ( accident, according to MS ). It says he found her with her hands drawn around her neck...but the article by the 'writer' that nicomarlo posted, also above, says the writer found her with her head, face down, towards the east or hallway, and her feet and arms facing west-her body between the bathroom and (?) bedroom, or (?) hallway.

This is a big difference, imho.
