Placing one minor aspect of gun ownership above every other issue is not a conservative position it is a lunatic fringe of the lunatic fringe issue. Threatening to commit political suicide is not a conservative position either.

It is juvenile, immature, shortsighted and indicative of those who are not true conservatives merely poseurs ready to leave the field to the enemy at the first displeasure crying "Wah, wah I'm going to take my ball and go home."
