That doesnt answer my question...what is the NRAs position on Bush's decision to sign a renewal? I know they beat up The Usual Suspects all the time but what about RINO's esp when they hand pick them? The kitty is big on this one since both sides have taken a 'hardline'. Frankly, w/ the stupid Ramadan 'BBQ' at the WH, cuddling up to Teddy (only to be embarassed later), the AW renewal etc I cant see much of a reason to vote for him next time. *At least the Dems are HONEST.* Theyre evil and make no bones about it. You can fight that. However, when you have a supposed 'friend' keep stabbing in the back its awful hard to figure out which way the enemy is coming from. In a lot of ways Bush Jr reminds me of Jimmy Carter...a good 'ole boy naive sap who's best intentions crash and burn at the worst possible time. A leader he's not...too bad too since this country needs one desparately.

I'm withholding my judgement about that. Personally, I think he's crazy like a fox, and I hope I'm right. We'll see when the cards are turned next year.

Dunno - except it would be somewhat *awkward* for NRAILA to go to the effort of outlining a firm position *against* AWB and then support GWB in signing any extension.

IIRC, GWB never said he'd sign it - it was a comment made by a staffer. We're less than a year away from *sunset* and there remains little to no momentum in Congress to do anything to stop it.

Regardless of the administration position, you can be confident the NRA is both 1. Responsible for the current lack of Congressional interest and 2. Working hard to ensure support for renewal remains *NON EXISTENT*.

GOA, JFPO and others are surely doing the same, but the only pro gun organization democrats fear is the NRA.
