http://homepage.mac.com/joeurbz/iblog/index.html Trying to gather information to post.
Scanner: "It is going to be a busy day, especially when it gets warmer."
Air Support is being prepped (it is on its way).
New website: San Bernardino Fire Information
- Quick Evaluation on Nob Hill: It is blowing north; awaiting for more details.
- They are going with Hook Creek for a visual of a fire. Crews at the resorts are being prepped for possible last minute evacuations. The north side of the lake (UCLA Conf Ctr) is going to be protected. Route 173 is no longer a possible escape route. "If there is a hole, this fire will find it." [Scanner]
- Areas with imminent danger: Monument Peak and Sawpit, wrapped around the hillside at 138; completely surrounding Cedar Pines Park, Thousand Pines, and Mountain High Park. It is now approaching Grandview. The actual fire line is 4 miles wide. At 3am, there was an order to get the civilians out of the area. As of now, Lake Arrowhead was contained. Running Springs is now surrounded (crossing over at 4am; but there was the east side burning already). They are holding off the fire at Job's Peak at the Mozumdar Temple (unconfirmed). [resident in Crestline]
- KTLA5 states that some of the fire in Running Springs is approaching homes within 100-200 yards.
- Heaps Peak and Santa's Village: Firefighers have to get out. The fire is out of control and is coming up with a vengeance. No structures lost just yet; they will try fighting when it crosses over 18. The air support has no clear area just yet to help. "Time to regroup and go after it."
