Sf4-- Have to check out for a while and make a living. Good work everyone. Much better coverage here than on the "old media."

That's a relief! Firefighters face enough danger!

I'm amazed they aren't choking on smoke up there.
Trust me, they are! My son sez they have to hold their breath!

going into Julian on 79 - the east side hit very hard
downtown Julian is intact, safe -
East side, Whispering Pines, Kentwood, areas very bad, hit very hard
Saying Harrison Park seems OK, (that was reported as completely destroyed last night)

My dad was a builder in the Nob Hill area near Running Springs during the 60's. Plenty of mountain homes and cabins in this area.
Anyone have an update on my alma mater, Rim of the World H.S.?

KFI is reporting that Stephenson Ranch should be OK. They've been able to push the fire back a bit. A lot of hard work on part of the FF.

Fire update
7:57 a.m.
California Dept. of Forestry spokesperson says the that Cedar fire and the Paradise fire are approximately five miles apart.
The boundaries of the Paradise fire are Lake Henshaw to the northeast and Pamo Valley to the south.

Heard ealier on KTLA that the FF in the area of Running Springs and the rest of Hwy 18 area to the east were very pessimistic about saving Running Springs. The planes that would be doing the drops are grounded right now because of haze and fog.
