I find it somewhat amusing that people from other fields come into the classroom and think it's going to be easy.
The teacher's associations should've sued many administrations starting decades ago for dereliction of duty.

Any student who physically threatens a teacher should be beaten like a dog.I don't know about beating him/her like a dog, but severe punishment is in order. I believe the parents should be notified, the incident confirmed, and the student caned (like they do in Singapore). If this doesn't solve them problem, then the parents should be caned. If this doesn't solve the problem, send the whole family to prison and have them break rocks. After the third time of this having occured, you will almost never hear about such threats again.
