I'm not sure what you mean by your comment. The whole point of the health care power of attorney is that you give the power to a person you trust to make the decision for you when you can't. (Usually the spouse for a married couple, but it doesn't have to be the spouse. She could have given one of her parents power of attorney as well.)

I meant you shouldn't have to worry that your spouse would have you killed if you were in a coma.
