Yeah. We get 4-4.5 in the area, quite a bit. Nothing-burgers. A 7 might get my attention.

Got an alert for the quake about a half hour ago. A tsunami alert a few minutes later. Didn’t feel anything, (Coos Bay, OR) so I decided to wait tor an FR thread on the subject. The largely undeveloped North Spit is probably the most vulnerable to a small tsunami from that dirrection.

I have a second cousin who lives in Bend.

The fault line that worries me is the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

It produced a 9.0+ earthquake on January 26, 1700.

A repeat of that event in the present day would send tsunamis crashing into Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, as well as Japan.

It would be a catastrophe.
